Do your research. Read read read. Most common issue is the transmission. If you are mechanically inclined, can do some of your own maintenance, take a look at part prices, what's involved in changing engine oil, gear oil, trans fluid etc. If that stuff is in your budget and mechanical ability.

Make sure it has a damper already. Then you'll know the previous owner was Kool and took good care of it. How you ask? Because he was so weak from having one he had to have the dealer service it.

If you are looking for a new one, go over to 6G Forum. There's a lot that's changed since 2024 models, including the transmission that everyone warns you about.

Be realistic about your needs vs. your wants. Too many people end up with a lot more vehicle than they actually need because they mistake their wants for their needs. It's fine if you can afford the difference, but way too many people end up with a vehicle that they can't or can barely afford because they couldn't make the distinction. Like @veedubtuner said, do a hell of a lot of research, and that's not just on the vehicle but on your realistic use-case, not just right now but for the anticipated duration of ownership.

For the 5g I'd be looking for a 2023 model with the improved cdf drum. Or research any 22 model to see if it received it. Pretty pure this was a mid year change.

Around August 15 was the change of the CDF drum. Mine was built in September, hopefully it has the good one. Only 27k miles so no idea what the future holds. And, no, it's not for sale. :)
