When I ordered my Ranger in 2022, smack in middle of post Covid vehicle shortages, my salesman took the Auto Start/Stop off saying it'll slow down the process. I didn't even know that was a option at the time to have the vehicle built without it. Very happy, no doubt about it. lol

They made it optional due to the chip shortage.

10-4 on the ritual...it's automatic for me now to start the truck with the right hand...and then immediately move it to the A/S/S button. also, I don't use the lane keeping assist either... it doesn't really do much anyway, except slightly jiggle the wheel.

I simply hit the ASS button after starting the truck.

Phew. Man. It is tough though I must admit. Big ass button. Can work up a sweat trying to press it. (Or as we say in the south, “Just mash the button!”)

Some days I’ll be heading to the garage to go somewhere and then I’ll change my mind. Just don’t have it in me to deal with that big ol’ difficult to press button.

I’m guessing the owners of damper equipped trucks would truly struggle with the effort of pressing that button. If you see a 5G owner with his arm in a sling you can bet it was from trying to disengage the ASS with the factory supplied button.

:bandit:
In the beginning I tried using the button but had issues remembering to use it which usually frustrated me and only confirmed my advanced age. I needed something memory proof. Hence the super expensive led light option.

I got the $20 credit for the 4G LTE hotspot removal as well.
They did the same on mine. Wanna bet if you were to add this it would've been more than $20.00:question::curse:

Oh definitely, just like the headlight issues. $500 credit where just one side is like 3x as much. 🙄

My $2.00 night light is still going strong 6 years and counting. It's probably $6.00 now. :curse:

My little phone charger was free, and I saved it from the landfill, for now.

I
I have some here, I’m going to try that trick.
Just make sure it doesn't have the light sensor on them. If they do you can just put a piece of black tape over it.
