Update us on long term durability. Even on heavier trucks the ball joints, etc. seem to take a hit.Nope, no plow package.
Since I only do my own driveway, I elected to wait and see how it handles the weight of the plow. So far, it seems OK. Steering feels fine. The place I bought it from and had it installed is about 45 minutes away and even driving home from there with the plow mounted, operating temps were more of a concern than front end weight. At some point, I may decide to go with Bilsteins up front, or something similar.
I haven't noticed any issues with power draw. There's no dimming of lights or evidence of electrical gremlins when I raise the plow.
I have the VeePeak OBDII dongle and OBD Fusion to keep track of engine and transmission temp, both of which stayed in normal, no-plow, range.
The Ranger is probably not a platform I'd recommend for someone who'd be running around town doing driveways, mostly because of temps, but it appears to be a good combo for personal use. It's almost as good as the Jeep Wrangler I used to plow with; I just need to be a bit more thoughtful about how I maneuver.
