Actually yesterday, rotated the tires. Got a long road trip next week (Yea!) and did a quick check of my maintenance record sheet. Oil, air filter etc all good. Tire rotation… Ah Houston, we have a problem. Yep, way behind. 😖 So rotated them yesterday afternoon.

Must say, the Generals are wearing nice and evenly. No weird wear patterns anywhere. Truck just turned 45K miles this week. At this point I ‘m guessing I’ll get about 60K out of the tires.

And installed the new lug nuts that I bought a couple of months ago. Ford 2 piece 🐂 💩 went into the metal recycling bin. Took care of that future problem.

Last hand wash and 303 graphene application of the year. First 70 degree next year I’ll do it again 😂

Truck looks good @underwhelmed!
That reminds me. I need to give OTR Ranger one more good FTB before it gets to cold outside.

I know there is a “what did you get” thread but I figured we could start a what did you do to your Ranger today thread because I have enjoyed them on other forums...

so I’ll start off with this...

I got some metallic gray vinyl off amazon to try and match the factory Magnetic gray so I could wrap some pieces on the interior. So for a little test I did the door trim below the window switches to see how i like it. I’m happy with how it turned out, it’s not a perfect match (little light) but I think it looks good and breaks up all the black on the door.

What do you guys think?

Stopped by the car wash and gave it one more FTB before it gets to cold around here for me to want to mess with it lol.

Alright, after a year of no rear defroster and winter on the way, it was time.

mobile glass install company drove out to my house and did the install in my driveway. Temps were high 20s/low 30s. I asked if the glue/gasket needed higher temps for install and he insisted no. I asked why the lady on the phone said 40 degrees or more and he replied, “some people complain about working in the cold. I grew up farming so I don’t mind.”

bless these hearty souls. In my defense, temps were in the high 60s when I ordered this window lol. Didn’t do it to the guy on purpose.

anyway, the new window looks great. Forgot what clean rear glass looks like.

BONUS, tho this is more of what I did WITH rather than TO my Ranger:
IMG_1089.webp

had the quad loaded up a few weekends back to go to watch my brother race in a hare scramble. Several people noted their appreciation for the ranger’s size that made loading and unloading into the bed a breeze compared to larger higher up trucks.

That's a snug fit!!😂 I have an '03 Yamaha Grizzly 660 and I haven't attempted to load it. I'm using a small trailer. Are the front tires behind the wheel wells? I'm also a little concerned with the weight on the tailgate. I read in the manual 300 lbs max and most quads (mine for sure) are 600 lbs +. I don't mind the trailer. It's a little 4x8 tilt deck golf cart trailer that was my dad's. Just refurbished the whole thing.

in the immortal words of ace ventura: liiiiike a glove!

the atv pictured is a 2025 Honda Rancher 420 DCT IRS. Front wheels actually run right between the wheel wells no problem. I’m sure the low PSI on ATV wheels helps! So she runs right up against the front of the bed. I use pro taper tie downs for the front two corners and a ratcheting strap on the rear. Sine it’s a DCT, I also put the parking brake on once it’s tied down. No bounce or movement at all. As someone posted above, the weight limit of the tailgate is over 400 pounds, and the quads weight is split between the front and rear. I’m really not worried about it at all. I grabbed a tri folding ramp that spreads to the width of my bed and loading/unloading is a one man job. Easy!!

all that said, if I had a trailer I’d use that unless it was somehow less convenient.

here’s a photo of the ramps I use (the fold right up and slide underneath the ATV in the bed) and a pic of the front of the ATV. You can see where the front wheels are in relation to the wheel wells. They’re clearly fitting between those wells. Not sure the rears would fit so if you have thicker fronts then it might not go so easily. You don’t know til ya try I guess.

As long as it works and your ATV doesn't go flying out the back into traffic. Looks good!

I took several measurements and my fronts would set on the wheel wells so I opted to not try it. I have some trifold ramps as well when I had the 8 ft bed trucks. Those are 7 feet long!😂 A bit long for the Ranger. I will just stick with the trailer. We take the mountain bikes when camping anymore plus the atv and towing the trailer won't work with the tailgate down.
