Hi everyone! 👋

I’m new to the group and recently bought a 2021 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4. A few months ago, I replaced the stock FX4 shocks with Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 2R.

I wanted to get some input from anyone who’s driven a 19-23 Ranger Tremor with the stock Fox 2.0 shocks with remote reservoir on rear, and has experience with the Eibach Stage 2R setup. How do they compare in terms of ride comfort and handling? I’ve been wondering if I should’ve got the Tremor instead of upgrading to the Eibachs — or are the two setups similar enough that it’s not a big difference?

Appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

Keep in mind that the Tremor is not just the shocks but the rear springs also.

In reality it's going to depend on how you plan to use the truck. If you plan to stick to the street, stick with Eibach. If you plan to hit the trails(not just Forest Roads) then you would probably benefit from the Fox 2.0 with Remote Reservoirs. The big advantage of the Remote Reservoir is to keep the Shocks and Struts cool over constant corrugated/washboard roads along with other constant movement bumps to help prevent shock fade. If staying on the street then this won't be a concern.

The 2R has reservoirs. Just look on YouTube for the fox 2.0 vs Eibach 2.0. Consensus is the Eibach give you same capability off road with better handling while Fox will be more plush with less predictable handling. If you tow or haul they recommend Eibach out of the two but really should consider bilsteins or OME.

The tremor leafs make the most difference over a resi on either of those shocks.

I have the 2.0 ProR on my rig with the Tremor leafs and it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it out in the socal desert. Baja washes to the dunes of glamis and some rock crawling in between

I have a 21'Tremor. I replaced the Fox with the Eibachs. The Fox lasted about 35k and started going soft. I hardly get a chance to go off road. The Eibachs are between the Fix and the Bilsteins. You made a good choice. I liked the Fox, they just don't last. Now my ride is more firm , but not that harsh and yes you can tell the difference.

i have the pro truck 2r kit and have the 2.0 in the front and the rear 2.0 w/resi and by themselves the front rode amazing, id recommend anybody to get the eibach 2.0 coiloves for better on road driving and solid offroad performance but the rear resi shocks were a bit stiff on low speeds up until i put icon leaf springs. the icon leaf springs woke the rear end up, it is so much better... the off road capabilities jump up 10 fold with new leaf spring set up paired with the eibach rear resi shocks and the on road driving also is 10x better, the rear just floats over speed bumps or dips in the road. As for this vs that on fox/eibach ive had a lot of local friends/trail buddies even people on this forum go from fox to eibach but never eibach back to fox 2.0s which said a lot to me. but either way!! leaf springs are the best bang for your buck in the rear w/aftermarket shocks.

Keep in mind that the Fox shocks need a rebuild every 30-50k miles depending on how hard you use them.

Rebuild is around $100 per shock.

Rears are no big deal to pull for rebuilds.

The fronts are a different story.

More like every 10,000-50,000 depending on use just 50% OffRoad use requires 10,000 miles service and I can't understand how many can justify it

I have Eibach Pro Truck remote reservoir rear shocks on my Tremor, I also had them on my 2019 FX4 non-Tremor. While I do think the Eibachs are a bit more compliant than the Tremor Foxes and certainly much better than the stock FX4s on both the street and moderate off road the real reason to go with a quality shock like Eibach is the long-term reliability. at 25,000 miles my Tremor Foxes were both leaking while the Eibchs on my 2019 went 80,000ish and were not leaking when I sold the truck. The FX4s on my 2019 were non-functional at 40,000 when I took them off.

That’s what they list.. my front coilovers are still fine.. the driver side rear shock did however start weeping after 50k miles..
Off road driving on the property is a bit rough which is pretty steep and bumpy, towing, and lots of on road driving..
The rebuild recommendations to me is just a “cya” being practiced by Fox… it will all come down to how you drive.. I don’t participate in speed bump Olympics or anything like that but I did put it through heavy use..

eibach pro truck 2R’s with the tremor or row wildtrak leafs is probably what the op will be looking for..
I do like the Fox equipment very much though it does come at a premium price.
(I have 2.5 Fox fronts now and 2.0 Fox rears now (I have to figure out what length 2.5 Fox shocks I need for the rear since my Ranger has seen some significant changes lately.))

FOR THE OP:
eibachs are nice equipment.. unless you want the rebuildable equipment.
Eibach will be confident on the road and manageable off road. (Slight but noticeable difference in stiffness
After the shocks go for the leafs (or in combination if you have the extra expenses.)
it’ll spruce up the ride nicely (the tremor leafs will give the ranger a smidge of a butt lift too😉.)

in short if you want to be able to rebuild get Fox, if you don’t care about that go with the eibachs.
