Sorry for yet another transmission thread on here. I’ve combed through all the rest and couldn’t find anyone with a similar issue. I have a 2019 with 89k miles. Transmission was replaced under warranty at 59k 2 years and 1 month ago. I was told the warranty was 2 years unlimited mikes on the new transmission.
I began having issues with the
transmission about a year ago and took It in. They had my truck for close to 2 months (I had a loaner car so no complaints) and when I got It back they said It was a EGR valve issue. Sounds like they didn’t even look at the transmission. Had It fixed and my issues seemed to go away. Fast forward to about 3 months ago and I’m having similar issues. The car is hesitating on shifts, rough shifting at low speeds, and sometimes going from a stop, the transmissions won’t even engage. The car will rev up and then I will have to let off the gas and try again before the car slams in to gear. I’ve had 2 instances of the car reving up and slamming into a gear while coming to a stop as well. Around the same time this happened I had a check engine code. I took It in, they assured me It was the DPFE sensor. They did not look at the transmission yet again. I took the car and did the repair myself (they quoted me 900). The issues became even worse. I contacted the dealer and they told me it’s probably a transmission issue but that I am now out of warranty and they cannot give me a time frame on when they can look at the car and diagnose. My guess is multiple months based on past experiences and I cannot go without a car for that long. Unsure what to do at this point/what the issue might be.

DPFE is NOT related to the transmission's function in any way...
Sorry, but YES, the DPFE ties into the transmission shift points, only not directly.
The MAPT sensor reading calculates the Engine Load, Engine Load determines shift points.

When EGR is flowing the MAPT sees the flow (Pressure Increases) a Live PID data monitor will be needed, I suspect a bad MAPT Sensor or a failure still resides in the EGR system, such as clogged tube.

This tie in, is why some have reported (misdiagnosed) and replaced the T-Convertor for shifting issues only to finally replace the DPFE.

I have posted a Ref: for normal PIDs to monitor in the following thread.

What you're describing sounds like low transmission fluid. The trans solenoid will not engage the clutch packs without proper pressure which could be from too little or too much fluid.

Having done my own trans fluid service, it is CRITICAL the trans is checked with the pan as level as possible. I checked mine after I successfully changed it just to see how far off it can be and it was WAAAAY off the marker, which puts us sort of where you are right now.

It just seems you cannot trust the majority of services these days. Far too often you get sub standard work which is pretty sad. People regardless of profession used to take pride in the work and they'd end up being your go to guy or gal building a consumer relationship that in the long run would financially balance in the form of freebies and extras from consumer loyalty. Its like businesses don't give a $h!t anymore who you are. Just pay up and get outta here!

I have a 2020 with 38K. The other day, I left the driveway and the engine revved higher than usual and then absolutely SLAMMED into a gear. From then on, it would not automatically up-shift, at ALL. I had to use the shift switch on the transmission lever to up-shift, which worked fine. (Down-shifting was always fine.) When I had my first opportunity, I pulled over, keyed-off, opened and closed the door, and then restarted the engine. It has been working fine ever since. News flash, people, but this is crap. It's not like the dome light doesn't work; it's the FRIGGING TRANSMISSION!!!! That big thing that makes the vehicle actually MOVE. Model T's probably had a more reliable transmission. This is ridiculous. I am 69 years old and have only owned Jeeps or Fords for my entire driving life. But I think I am going to finally look at a Tacoma. A sad day for America.

If serious, look into a 2013 -2015 Tacoma.

Surprisingly, those are also the best years for a Nissan Frontier, maybe stretching to 2016 for the Frontier.

The Tacomas after 2016 have their own host of problems.

When I bought mine I was going by the previous 2nd Gens record of reliability, man was I wrong. That 3rd Gen was probably the worst and from what I've heard the new 4th Gen is having its share of issues too. But I haven't really looked into the new 4th Gen so maybe they're just rumors?

Not rumors, they are having issues.

Seems like all manufacturers are having issues now.

Toyota had to recall basically ALL the new Tundras with the twin turbo V6 and replace the engine.

Seems like just about everything post 2020 is hit or miss now. Wait until you have to replace an appliance. It use to be fairly easy, just go with a top name brand but not anymore. Remember the Maytag man? He was the loneliest guy because their appliances were built to last but not now. They have some of the worst reviews. It's like gambling in Vegas you're just rolling the dice and hoping to get a good one out of the batch now.

Basically, A lot of appliances are rebadged. It's a luck of the draw now.
Old washer and dryer a Maytag went 17 and 19 years.
Problem is to many electronic components and boards to go bad.
Service techs just throw replacement boards and hope that fixed it.
I had my Whirlpool Gold French door style repaired 5 times in 6 years all different problems.
Garage Kenmore refrig. plain jane style is 15 years old and cools better then the Whirlpool.

That's the problem is everything is electronic now, no old school knobs. The next washer/dryer I buy will be a Speed Queen because they're made for commercial use and you can still get them without all the gadgets. They're more expensive but worth it if they last and clean better. The last thing I need (or want) is wifi in any of my appliances! 🤦‍♂️

The house we're renting was built in 1997 and still has the original stove, microwave and fridge and they all work fine even the ice maker. The only thing that was replaced was the dishwasher.

Yup, Maytag now owns Frigidaire, Whirlpool, Jen Air and Amana so it's hard to cross shop products because they're all owned by a couple name brands now. This is another area (along with autos) that I started buying extended warranties for. I was always against them but now they're almost a necessity because it's not IF it's going to break it's WHEN will it break. Do ya feel lucky. lol 🎲

Hate to break the news to you, But Speed Queen has gone bad too! Back when Biden wanted to destroy what efficacy still existed in washing machines, we purchased a Speed Queen base mechanical model, as did my in-laws who got the recommendation from the local Mennonites (Amish who use modern amenities). Ours is still in the box in the garage, but my inlaws have had nothing but trouble from theirs. And repairs have been expensive.
