It will be fine and you don't have to go to an LT to handle a trailer as the Ranger was designed with both P and LT rated tires. It's up to you on what tire you go for, but just make sure that it meets the needs over the wants. If staying on the Street, keep away from a Mud Terrain. If dealing with Winter Conditions, make sure to get a good All Season at the least that is highly rated for Winter Conditions.

I want to put Load Range E tires on my Ranger as part of suspension upgrades to handle a Four Wheel Camper in the back. Does the truck have adequate steering clearance in the front to handle the slightly larger 265/70/17 tires without a lift? I currently have the stock 265/65/17 tires. Thanks for your input.
I think it depends on 2wd or 4wd. The 4wd trucks sit slightly higher in the front and that tire size should fit, although it would be too close for my personal preference.

Some guys have said they fit, others have said there’s slight rubbing on the crash bars. I guess there’s only one way to know for sure… I had a leveling kit on my truck before I upsized tires so I can’t say for sure.

One thing I do know is that your clearance will be close with the steering knuckle and tire sidewall. At full lock, my tires actually rubbed on the coils. Part of the reason I changed from stock wheels to 25mm aftermarket offsets, this was pre-lift kit and 33” tires. Did the same with the wife’s Ranger. Hers has 265/70 tires, leveling kit, and offset wheels. No issues with rubbing.

I have 265/70-17's and a 1.5" Truxxx level but they fit fine before I put the leveling kit on.
