We're letting AI LLMs start threads on the forum now? Good to know!
This is just another thing that shows me I'm old.
What is an AI LLM?

Artificial Intelligence - Large Language Model

ie. Software program which tries to emulate intelligence and usually fails.

I'm not Ai.. Post history will show that.

My post is playing off the "timing belt" post.
I know. Just goofin'. Tryin' to stay in the spirit of the thread!

Edit: There is a greater than small chance that I misread the spirit of the thread, though.... I had ChatGPT take a look at the thread and my initial post is what it came up with. ?

Will be posting results as I go along.........

Secondary, the fuel pump on new vehicles are cooled by the fuel surrounding them, it will help them last longer this way.
It's not the fuel surrounding the pump that cools them, it is the fuel flowing through the pump. The wives tail that letting fuel level go below 1/4 will uncover the pump and causes it to fail seems to live on. Many fuel pumps are mounted just below the access flange, in those cases you would have to refill at 1/2 or higher to keep the pump submerged. Certainly letting the fuel level go low enough to uncover the pickup and suck air can over heat the pump and shorten its life.

I have run mine out of gas, and coasted in on fumes a few times. Once you put a little more fuel in the tank it just keeps on keeping on.
