I have a 2020 Ford Ranger Super Crew XLT, it’s also a 2WD(rear). I am having trouble deciding on the leveling. Since it’s a 2WD(rear) would it be better to lift the front level with the back, or should I drop the back level with the front. I don’t take it off road since it’s not a 4x4, so I’m looking to make it look good. Any opinions or advice would be awesome!!

I would get a proper leveling kit (Fox 2.0, bilstein 5100, Eibach Protruck, etc) as it will lift the front up for you while also improving your ride. But if you're satisfied with the current ride, you can just get a spacer lift for the front but i would advise against those.

I appreciate it, never had a 2WD truck so I’m not 100% sure the best route.

The only real difference for the suspension between 4wd and 2wd is the weight up front. So if you went with the Fox 2.0 for example, you'd get more lift out of the front at the factory settings than i did. Mine still had a bit of rake (until i threw the canopy on the bed), so you should get an almost perfect level out of it.

Drop the rear. Sounds like you are after a lower look I think the front has enough tire gap the way it is.

My 2019 was 2WD and the ride was horrific. I had the dealer put the Ford/Fox leveling kit on it and made a 100% difference in the ride and look, I think.

Don't do the spacers. They're cheap, but you get what you pay for out of it.

In my opinion ?

I think the only problem with lowering the rear is if you use it as a truck with weight in the bed or towing something weighty you may get some sag and ride on the bumpstops a lot.

Much easier to install a leveling kit than drop the rear. Also allows you to fit bigger tires if you ever want to do that in the future.

Some guys swear against spacers and will tell you horror stories about how “bad” they are for your truck. I put leveling spacers on the wife’s truck and I’ve had them on all my previous vehicles. Never had any problems with normal driving conditions on paved roads.

It really comes down to what you’re wanting to do with your truck. I wouldn’t recommend spacers if you’re planning on ever doing any serious offroad driving. If you’re just going for looks, they’re a cheap option. They might make the front end slightly stiffer than stock but I didn’t notice a big difference in handling after installing them on my wife’s truck.

Also worth mentioning that you might want to consider changing upper control arms if you decide to level it. When I did my wife’s truck, I didn’t like the angle of the ball joints. They were almost maxed out so I changed the UCA’s which helped.

Before making modifications, let's ask some simple questions.

First off how often do you put stuff in the bed?

Second how often are you towing a trailer?

Do you understand why the truck has Rake in the first place?

What is the intended use of the truck?

Sure I'll give an opinion. Throw some cinder blocks in the bed to lower the rear end. Cheap and easy to do. Also easily reversible by leaving the tailgate down and flooring the pedal on the right. :like:

I put the 2" levels from Ranger lifts. It's a 2" spacer on a Tremor. Did not effect the ride or the handling. Leveled mine perfect.
