YES, Post Patrol, I did go the OEM site to see if they explained the delta.

Reading another thread to add these springs for improvements when towing.

So, no secret I'm new to towing.

My question, which one would you suggest, SSR-141-40 vs SSR-141-47, I'm towing an RV with a UVW of 3400 lbs and for safety add an 1000 lbs of wife stuff so 4400 lbs roughly all in. Upgraded my 4 shocks with Bilstein 5100's and having the Hellwig Sway Bar Installed this week. That install was based on another thread which folks shared before and after feedback while towing.

Like I said, I read the specs on the OEM web site and the info provided means nothing to me.

Thanks John

You want the blue ones.

The black ones will be too stiff, especially if you're already geting the sway bar.

There is too much of a good thing, and the black version along with the swaybar is probably going to up your effective rear spring rate too high and you won't like it.

Would also potentially make the rear end of the truck super twitchy when it is unloaded.

Personally, I might skip the sumo's all together if you're doing the bar. I might pick one or the other, but not both. But that's just me. I use the blue Sumo's with no bar and feel it is a good combo.

My suggestion is to tow before buying the Sumo Springs. You would be surprised at how well the Ranger will do with just the shock upgrade. Add the sway bar and the Sumo Springs and I feel you are changing way too much before testing

Drive it after you upgrade the shocks and add the sway bar....but I think you will still need the Sumo's....depending on the load your going to carry, meaning the amount of load including the tongue weight of the trailer....
Reason being, better shocks still do not prevent the frame from contgacting the bumpstops under heavy load, and a sway bar will not prevent the frame from contacting the stops under load....
Sway bar does not raise the load carrying ability....it just prevents "roll" when situations arise, and better shocks will dampen much better than stock shocks.....but even with both, under a heavy load, that load is still forcing the rear down and frame may still go down enough to rest against the stock bump stops.
Sumos are taller, and will contact the spring perch sooner than stock, and as there a different material, will compress progressively and not give that "jarring" when contact is made.
I have shock upgrade and a suspension modification, and my frame still contacts the Sumo's....but much smoother ride as opposed to the stock stops.
The Sumo's are one of those mods that under "empty/solo" driving you probably will never notice any difference....it will not stiffen the ride. But under a heavy load, if your "attuned" to your truck and its handling, you will notice a big difference.

Which suspension upgrade do you have?

Can't speak for Grumpa, but I do recall towing a few times with my 2019. Only towed after I had my lift installed. Once with a total load of 5,500 lbs and the truck was level with the load. Never hit the bump stops either.

I have a system called Roadmaster Active Suspension System. It basically takes the place of a sway bar, air bag system, traction and track bar set up. It costs less than a sway bar set up for the Rangers, but does exactly the same thing as all the mentioned.
I'm not pushing one system over another....it's up to the individual to go the route they feel comfortable with. I have this system, and it works....it's a "passive" system and comes into play the same as a sway bar or air bag set up does.
Only down side is it raises the rear of the truck about 1/2 inch.
Go to the Roadmaster web site....lot of info and video's.
