I know people don't like the new design, but I'm a fan. Its the first Corvette I would consider getting. (not that I can afford it)

It's a GM...........STRIKE 1
Can't tow with it...........STRIKE 2
With the addition of my engine cover, Fitzstick, and Ford Catch Can, my Ranger already makes 1064 HP (I just don't use it all).....STRIKE 3

It has a black tow hook available. Probably can't tow much with it I suppose.

Rather sad that GM's flagship sports car comes with an automatic transmission as the only option.
<heavy sigh>

Given that their target audience is old guys, I'm not surprised. Autos are also faster...

Is it less fun? Maybe. Is it more practical and performance oriented? Yes.

Plus, the rich young guys can't drive a stick.

And no one get to choose a manual transmission. I expected to see the option. That's all.
BTW, the faster car doesn't always win the race. The quicker car does.

Like 5thranger, said, a manual is quite the anti theft device.

It's been quite a few years since a Corvette could be had with a manual transmission. The reason the Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and most all super cars come with Dual Clutch transmissions is from a performance stand point they are superior in every way. Even the top dog Shelby GT500 Mustang doesn't come with a manual.

Interesting. I wondered about that. I'm just not that into the Corvette.

Have you driven one? I drove one on the track at the Corvette Musuem. It's no 4l60e. The shifts were quick and smooth. It does have paddle shift which works great as well.

It's competing against the exotics and GM had to change things up. Ferrari and Lamborghini no longer offer manual transmissions. Porsche still offers a manual.

If I were buying a sports car I'd want a stick but for daily driving I prefer an auto. It really is a good anti-theft device seeing as most of the younger generation can't drive one. lol

Saw them testing the cars last year at Loveland Pass in Colorado. The wing is ridiculously large in person and really stood out.

Now that I see it without the camouflage, it looks like a McLaren with all the aero bits. Hatch intakes make me think Lambo/Ferrari.

Carbon fiber wheels gotta be $20k lol

My Corvette makes half that power. And I manual shift my 4l80e.
I can run it up to 2400 to launch but it ain't no Ford Ranger.
