In my development of 81 residences, mostly retirees there are 6 corvette owners. I know several of them one is 6' 3" had 2 knee replacements, bad back and legs about the thickness of toothpicks, a C8 sits in his garage he openly admits he can barely get in and out of it so he rarely drives it but it was " a teenage aspiration" , he is 82 yrs old and has no paunch but his wife shares with mine that he is becoming increasingly demented. Poster boy for corvette ownership ?
Certainly an opportunity to maybe relieve him of that burden of having it but not enjoying driving it.

Never been a fan nor aspired to be a corvette owner, growing up had several acquaintances who dreamed of owning one someday, I tend to regard corvettes in a similar light as Harleys, mostly owned by paunchy decrepit bearded old men. And I would have trouble getting out of a corvette myself. Recall watching the "Route 66" show and I think that helped to popularize corvettes just as it's been said Frank Sinatra drinking Jack Daniels gave a boost to it's popularity.

This reminds me of a trip I made to North and South Dakota a week before the Sturgis rally. A big part of my trip was Deadwood, SD but I had to pass through Sturgis along the way. It was already busy with Harley riders and I swore if I ever saw another fat freedom 55 rider (I was much younger at the time) in a black t-shirt with the arms cut off and a beanie helmet, with a Kenny Rogers wannabe beard sitting on a Harley, it would be way too soon. I mean, who wants to see another fat boy on a Fat Boy?

Sometimes, the stereotype just comes to life? It’s like the Tim Allen soliloquy in Wild Hogs about “grown men whose biggest decision in life is, uh, sleeveless or, uh, sleeveless.”

Full Credit: South Dakota has some of the most incredible scenery and attractions you might ever see. Grasslands, Badlands, Missile Silos, Black Hills, Deadwwod, Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Lewis & Clark Trail, Wall Drug Store, Corn Palace - the list goes on and on. I might have been on a business trip but I made the most of it.
