Hello guys,
I don’t know if you guys have already figured out a solution to the missing tie down points (seems like they started shipping out with 4 a while ago which was already covered in a thread) but I just jerryrigged some bogus ones for the cheap since Ford charges an arm and a leg:

1. 4x - M8 1.25 screws, 25MM length ($4)
2. 4x - M8 Washers ($2)
3. 4x - Tie down V rings, 4 pack ($10) (Found on Amazon from LE KAPMOZ vendor)

Very easy to just throw in with a socket wrench.

I certainly wouldn’t trust these to hold down anything heavy duty but definitely helpful for added stability with a cam strap, or something lightweight.

I thought this was super easy, took 20 mins or less for less than $20. Hope this helps someone else out there with the same problem.
Dave

Are the holes already threaded? Were they caked with bedliner?

Also - what is that net looking piece you have in the picture?
It was just a $20 net on Amazon that hooks up to my tie downs, I have a little milk crate full of crud back there that the net holds steady as I drive around

There was some bedliner in there but I just forced them with the wrench and they went right in. It was a struggle to get them started but only took a min to find the threads. I bought a tap at the store but I can return it :)

Thanks! I have two milk crates as well but hold them down with bungee cords, your way sounds better, because they are empty most of the time and the tension so tight, the crates just bounce up and down.

They feel pretty strong but I’d be shocked if it was 25% of that ;)
Yes, I'm skeptical, but even at 25% and using 3 or 4 tie downs to manage a load (refrigerator, stove, lumber... whatever) would be 1000 lbs and those items would not seem to need that much to manage.... unless you want to go 70mph on clover leaf on ramp... lol

Yeah, but how much can the side of the bed handle in those locations?
Absolutely agree. That was my first thought when I read the spec. @davidtg7123 sort of implied this was a "cheap" (in a bad way) alternative to Ford's overpriced pieces... But I'm thinking this is just as good as Ford's but a a very affordable and more appropriate price point. These tie downs are not the limiting factor here.

The holes I installed them into are the two that are meant for the third (middle) tie down that used to come factory installed. Therefore I would assume they can handle a pretty decent amount of force. I’m not using it for anything crazy heavy though just support. I saw some reviews complaining that these tie downs rust easily so I may be replacing them with the overpriced Ford alternative in a few months… :)
