2021 Lariat Tremor, 46k miles. Got it for 31k which seemed like a good deal.

I’ve already added the MBS transmission dipstick and swapped out the trans pan for the Dorman one with the drain plug on it and filled it with new motorcraft ULV fluid. Fresh oil change as well. Found the SmartCap topper on Facebook marketplace for a great deal. Getting right around 21mpg on my mostly highway commute.

Any advice on other maintenance? Should I do diff fluids? Spark plugs? Planning on keeping this thing for quite a while. I think Transfer case is Mercon LV, and diffs are 80w90 GL5 diff oil?

Very nice! Welcome to the forums. I got my 21 Lariat Scab with 31k miles for the exact same price. Seems you got a very good deal. Did your’s come with the engine cover? Some Lariat’s have ‘em, some don’t. I had to buy mine.

Nice truck. Spark plugs are probably about due. Swapped mine at 50k, they were pretty done. Not sure if thats due to mileage or the Ford Performance tune, but after putting in colder plugs (recommended for tuned trucks) it was much happier.

Welcome to the Tremor Club. How does it shift? Did you get any warranty?

Thanks! I'm thinking I will probably do the Livernois tune after my factory warranty expires in a year. All the reading I have been looking into seems to point towards the Livernois being a better option, and it allows for lower octane, whereas the Ford Performance is 91 only.

Yep I have about 15 months left on the factory warranty. Shifts pretty well, after doing a fluid change (old fluid was NASTY) and verifying correct level when hot with the MBS dipstick I had one moment where the 2-3 shift made a grinding noise for a half second, I think that was just the transmission re-learning the friction points with the fresh fluid in there. Since then it has shifted really smoothly.

Did the transfer case and both diff fluids today. Rear diff and transfer case were pretty gross, front diff fluid was still in pretty good shape. Also siphoned out 15oz of the trans fluid and added in 15oz of lubegard platinum, as it seems like most people on here seem to think it does make a bit of difference to the quality of the shifting. On a quick test drive, I did notice that the shifts seem smoother (even though they were pretty good already). Enjoying this truck a lot so far!

It didn't come with the engine cover, but it isn't high up on my list to get one for the truck as I do most of my own maintenance. Ill keep an eye out for one used though!
