I just did my DPFE sensor. Recently had a transmission overhaul covered under warranty and got a new CDF drum as well as clutch pack and trash can. After i got it back, it was like 80% better. Did the DPFE and that feels like the last 20%. Im just going to consider this a maintenance part...
Checked the bolts and they are indeed all tight. Was just a funky camera angle. I mopped up the fluid with a white paper towel and it was certainly red and a bit dirty and smelled like trans fluid. My guess is it was just old fluid from when the torque converter was sitting in the bell...
yeah the bolt certainly does look loose. But even so, correct me if I’m wrong but there shouldn’t be any loose fluid inside the bell housing right? Torque converter holds all the fluid in from the trans?
Well, I may have spoken too soon. Looks like I have a leak where the bell housing mates up to the block. Appears to be coming from the bolt in the picture. Has me worried about rear main seal. I’ll be calling the dealership tomorrow morning.
Pretty happy with the results. Although I did notice under the car he didnt install the heat shields on either side of the transmission pan. Worth going back to ask them about it?
Makes sense. Attached my copies of the work order of what they replaced. Looks like they did the CDF drum and cluch plates as well as the outer trash can.
Update: The transmission tech who did my rebuild said that the scoring on my CDF drum was the worst he had seen. Photo attached. It passed the test in the most recent TSB and wasn't throwing any codes, but the technician said it was definitely not shifting right. The clutch plates were also...
I just got approval from my local ford dealer for a CDF drum replacement and full rebuild of my transmission under warranty. Dealer said they performed the test in the TSB and it passed, but it was definitely exhibiting symptoms on the test drive so they sent it to Ford for approval. My guess...
I'm taking mine in on Monday to have 25-2134 performed on it. Getting some harsh shifts and lugging on the highway. Really hope they don't give me any issues as this truck was originally sold in Canada and imported into the US (done properly, i have title and everything). Did the DPFE sensor...
Update! Did the plugs with Motorcraft SP594's. No water in the spark plug wells which was great. Plugs looked to be in good shape but with the fresh ones in the very slight shudder I had on startup is gone. Also installed my version of a poor mans Go Fast Camper:
I got 3 Sherpa crossbars...
It didn't come with the engine cover, but it isn't high up on my list to get one for the truck as I do most of my own maintenance. Ill keep an eye out for one used though!
Did the transfer case and both diff fluids today. Rear diff and transfer case were pretty gross, front diff fluid was still in pretty good shape. Also siphoned out 15oz of the trans fluid and added in 15oz of lubegard platinum, as it seems like most people on here seem to think it does make a...
Yep I have about 15 months left on the factory warranty. Shifts pretty well, after doing a fluid change (old fluid was NASTY) and verifying correct level when hot with the MBS dipstick I had one moment where the 2-3 shift made a grinding noise for a half second, I think that was just the...
Thanks! I'm thinking I will probably do the Livernois tune after my factory warranty expires in a year. All the reading I have been looking into seems to point towards the Livernois being a better option, and it allows for lower octane, whereas the Ford Performance is 91 only.
2021 Lariat Tremor, 46k miles. Got it for 31k which seemed like a good deal.
I’ve already added the MBS transmission dipstick and swapped out the trans pan for the Dorman one with the drain plug on it and filled it with new motorcraft ULV fluid. Fresh oil change as well. Found the SmartCap...
