I don’t see anything that’s visibly loose or worn. No play in the bushings that I can see or feel. I’m over it, tired of wasting time trying to figure it out. Gonna take it to the shop and have them look at it AGAIN to hopefully find the issue. I’m sure they’ll charge me an arm and a leg but I’m getting irritated trying to do it myself and not getting anywhere.

At this point, I can either keep throwing parts at it and wasting money or just bite the bullet and have them go through the entire front end.

Order a set of chassis ears off Amazon, return them after if you need to, they will help you track down the source of the noise very easily. Only reason we discovered it being the LCA as they were not showing any signs of wear.

Clunking noise in front end came back a few days after changing control arms and ball joints… It was driving fine for a few days but now that noise is back! I’m also noticing some wandering and sticking in the steering. When driving on a straight road, it wants to track left or right. When taking corners, steering wheel sticks a bit and I have to pull it out of wanting to keep turning.

Got some new wheels, new tires, and alignment last week. If anything, that should make the handling better instead of worse. Looks like I’m replacing tie rods and sway bar links next… At this point, I’m just throwing parts at the truck hoping to solve the issue. Thought the new control arms did the trick. Negative. ?
Just got it back from the mechanic, decided to have a pro check it out and hopefully find something I was missing. Of course, they couldn’t find anything wrong.

They completely tore the truck apart and literally checked everything. Suspension, steering rack, differential, hubs, CV axles, struts, control arms, ball joints, tie rods, sway bar links, engine mounts, transmission mounts, EVERYTHING! Nothing is worn, loose, or out of spec. They said everything looks solid and it might just be “one of those things” I have to deal with.

As long as I have peace of mind knowing the truck is mechanically sound, it is what it is. Maybe I’ll just turn the radio up so I stop hearing it!

Maybe this is like one of those "Customer states...." mechanic's videos.

Turns out the clunking noise was was an old AA battery rolling back and forth in the glove box.
? I wish lol
