I've driven both. The F150 extended cab has plenty of space for our needs. We're empty nesters, so no kids to haul and rarely any other passengers. We found the Ranger extended cab to be too small in the back. We would want to stow a couple of large suitcases back there when we take a road trip and it would be tight. Therefore, the Ranger crew cab vs the F150 extended...Sounds like you have driven the Ranger already, what about the V6 F150? An extended cab F150 will have very little backseat room compared to a SuperCrew, so if you ever put people in the back the Ranger is better.
This makes the inside storage even bigger:.I've driven both. The F150 extended cab has plenty of space for our needs. We're empty nesters, so no kids to haul and rarely any other passengers. 33.5 in. of leg room in F150 Extended Cab and 34.5 in. in the SuperCrew Ranger.Does anyone know how much of a difference there is in back seat leg room between the Ranger super crew and the F-150 extended cab?
The “mid size” is more than enough to pack the kids, dogs and gear in for a weekend hiking trip. You also have to love the 23 mpg on the highway, it’s now our preferred family vehicle over the Explorer Platinum. No kidding, I see a lot of older 150s on the road, and they look to be about the same size as my "mid-sized" Ranger!
I overheard some advice once which went something like this...No kidding, I see a lot of older 150s on the road, and they look to be about the same size as my "mid-sized" Ranger!
The way I always looked at the resale equation is the 'value' of a Lariat vs. an XLT (or even nan XL) will never be as good as the price difference when you buy it, a Lariat will definitely be more appealing and will likely sell quicker than the others.Well, we went to another dealer and looked at a Lariat with 500a, tech package and tow package. they want $34,500 and offered $1500 more on my trade than the first dealer. That trade value gap might actually be larger, because they initially offered $7000, and when we balked at that, they reluctantly upped it to $8000. they did not even look at the car, so I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get that back down to $7000 if we went back.
This whole classic "let me talk to the manager" song and dance was rather disappointing. We've purchased four cars from this company's dealerships over the past 15 years, but I guess that counts for nothing.
The dealer last night inspected the car and came back with $9500, much more in line with what KBB and NADA show.
This is getting closer. Now I've got leather, adaptive cruise control, LED lights, etc. at a better price. I have to assume that the resale value of a Lariat is greater than the XLT also. Am I wrong about that?
