I can honestly say that this is a vehicle that I will purchase again without hesitation. The truck drives great, has more than enough power and stays above 22 MPG. I also enjoy the fact that there I never confuse my truck for another one in the parking lot, F-150’s are a dime a dozen. They are...
A black Lariat took the best parking space at the V.A. Hospital parking lot. I have seen Rangers driving around, but don’t see many black appearance packages.
Fort Bragg, NC area (Cameron) by way of Milwaukee, WI (Go Packers, Brewers and Bucks) and San Vincente, El Salvador. I have been on and off Fort Bragg since 1998 and don’t miss the lake effect snow....
I agree, the ventilation setting for the seats on the Explorer stay on *high* most of the year here in NC. Maybe during the next redesign there will be a full Lariat with ventilated/heated/massaging (don't judge on the massaging until you have tried it) seats, heated steering wheel and 60/40...
I also decided to purchase a fully loaded XLT since the Lariat didn't offer a heated steering wheel and I didn't find the leather seats a compelling enough difference.
I drive the Ranger on the weekends and the Explorer makes it easier to transport my gear securely to Fort Bragg during the week. The 3.5 twin turbo isn't a slouch either...
I haven’t had my Ranger as a daily driver since the first week. My wife uses her longer commute to the VA Hospital as a reason to drive the Ranger. She claims it’s because of the better mpg.....
The “mid size” is more than enough to pack the kids, dogs and gear in for a weekend hiking trip. You also have to love the 23 mpg on the highway, it’s now our preferred family vehicle over the Explorer Platinum.
I had a similar decision when I finally decided to purchase my Ranger. The Ranger handled better than the F150, fit my needs and I don't regret the purchase for one second. What I find funny is how the Ranger is almost as big as the F150s used to be.
I have been using the oil life monitor and completing slightly before the 10,000 mile interval in my Ford Explorers (2011 XLT and now a 2018 Platinum) since 2011 with zero issues. I plan on continuing the trend with my Ranger XLT, there is no reason to waste my money and change the oil early...
There is hardly any road noise, the truck has better sound deadening than luxury vehicles. I rode in my buddies Taco and it was night and day trying to hold a conversation in the vehicle.
Hello lightning blue Ranger members. The dealer couldn’t acquire a grey FX4 with the specs I wanted and got me a lightning blue with the tow package for the same price. This was probably the best that happened, lightning blue is hands down the best color on the truck.
Traded in my 2012 Ford Focus HB titanium for my Ford Ranger XLT FX4. I was torn between this and an F-150 and am glad I went with the smaller truck. The wife drives a Ford Explorer Platinum, I wanted grey but lightning blue looks great.
