We got about 5"-6" of snow yesterday but I'm not taking my Ranger out in it. Not because of the snow (I lived in Ma and have driven through many N'Easters) but because it's freezing outside! ? My Ranger has been in the garage hooked up to the maintainer since Monday nice and dry.

It is funny how relevant to where you live when a 5" snowfall becomes gridlock or just another day.

Down in the valley it's snowmageddon and gridlock with a couple small storms while up in McCall it's a daily occurrence so no big deal.

I work on Fort Campbell, KY as a civilian mechanic, we went to work on post after all the snow while the Army was tucked in warmly at home. Call out the Contractors

It's funny because this little amount shut the whole area down for 3 days so far. They're just now plowing our street and all the city offices, restaurants and Recreation centers (they're all run by the POA) are still closed. lol Sunday will be be 55 and Tuesday back up to 66 so I'll sit back and watch it melt. ??
I imagine your area has limited dedicated snow removal equipment and has to rely on private contractors when it gets “too much” snow.

I think the army saw it as a great PR tool and another training opportunity. I mean, why drive 400 kms with all that stuff and personnel just to clear snow?

We've had this -15'C over the night, near 0'C on the day weather for few days and the roads are slippery.

Went to shop today and started a turn to right on T-crossing and pressed the accelator a bit. Had nice 90 degree swing on the back side and the "I brake alot" automatics didn't do a shit. 4 wheel slide to opposing (empty) lane, steering to left and recover. 4H on and back to my lane.

Drive safe all.

CALL IN THE ARMY!!!

I tease because back in 1999, the Mayor of Toronto asked the Canadian Forces to help the city dig out of a major snow storm. They showed up with 400+ troops, more than 100 military vehicles (including snowmobiles), and 100 reservists on standby.

The Mayor and anyone who lived in Toronto were mocked nationwide and anytime Torontonians mention how much it has snowed, the razzing starts immediately

CALL IN THE ARMY!!!

Kinda the same story up here in Eastern WA. 5” of snow may not be such a big deal, but the way people choose to behave on the roads when there is 5” of snow… is a whole different story.

This is from one of our once or twice a year Texas snows. Snow is a rarity here lol.
