Annie leaves me nice little notes too. I've learned what this one means really quick. ?

I pretty much need all of them. I bought a 2021 Ranger XLT FX2 that had an unfortunate encounter with a ditch. Body damage was minimal, but it set the airbags off and the insurance company totaled the truck. This was during the covid epidemic when insurance companies were totaling vehicles with just minor damage so they could fix them and sell them for a profit. Whoever fixed the damage apparently wasn't a body shop and at least the skid plate, airdam and possibly other front underbody parts were left off. I am also going to use the truck as a tow vehicle for a smallish camper, and need to install a brake controller. I also need to install a roof antenna. That's a different story. Why not just use the names of the components instead of acronyms?
Not to be a dick, but why don't you just Google them? It's not hard to enter XXX Ford acronym and then read. If you threw a few in here that are puzzling you, I'm sure the good folks on this forum would help you out, but you are persistently demanding someone create an acronym list for you. Thus, you are pushing your lack of work ethic off on someone else. Most of us learned progressively by putting in the time and effort. I recommend you ask for a specific list or do the work yourself.

At my age, I don't want to waste any of the time I have left, and I don't want to spend it looking up stuff that the writer could have put in with a few extra keystrokes one time and then used the acronym afterwards. And the same criticism about the work ethic can be applied to the writer for being so lazy as to not add a few extra keystrokes.

Look man, I'm trying to work with you but your solution is that someone else waste their time so you don't have to put in any effort. Sorry dude, that's not how life works. Sharing information is already putting in effort. Its also your responsibility to work to understand it. This is a free forum, not paid education. We don't owe it to you to make this as easy as possible. You can do the work too.

Roger that Mark. As a not-young man myself I respect that perspective. I don't agree with it as I'm thankful for folks taking their time to share lessons learned so that I can save money without using a real mechanic. However, I respect your perspective. STFU and GFYS :)

Well I am not 76 but I am 72 and have no issue looking up an acronym that I haven't seen before. After a 45 year engineering career in aero space, defense, automotive, telecommunication and industrial controls industries you learn that the world operates on acronyms. If you aren't willing to learn them you get left behind. ?

This,

Right there with you at 72 and spent 45 years in the engineering field. A profession that lives on acronyms.

I do feel the OPs pain a little bit. Acronyms are a kind of shorthand. They also tend to be very context sensitive, so making a list is very difficult as they can have multiple meanings for the same letters.

To the OP, you also need to realize you are coming into a very mature forum, and I don't mean the age of the members, although that may also apply. In most cases these acronyms have already been defined multiple times already. So the only way you can learn them is to ask when you run into one you don't know. You will find the members here very willing to help out and explain things. Just stay short of demanding things.

Oh by the way. Thank you for your service.

I forgot there is a difference between age and maturity. Some of this group will never be mature no matter how old they got. ?

Yep! 72 here too! I did work in the IT field 15 years ago so things have changed some, when I can't figure it out I do some research and then ask what the hell it is. :sunglasses:
