You're not alone. My MKC came back from the dealer yesterday. Today, an exhaust smell through the vent with AC on happened shortly after driving. You can see where the oil fill cap was left. Lincoln picks up your vehicle and leaves a loaner. Then delivers the vehicle. The older guy that delivered the MKC didn't notice anything. Lost about 1.25 qts.More than a qt on that plastic cover. I think the dealer will have to clean the pipes, engine and whatever else to stop the smell.
It's a lease so I'm not aggravated but if it was the truck, I'd be very pissed off.

Definitely aggravating but things get forgotten sometimes. It happened to my wife’s old Focus years ago too.

I understand accidents happen but the dealer should clean the lower area where oil is causing the inside odor and provide a loaner ASAP. I emailed, left a phone message and will call tomorrow morning.

Absolutely 100%. I wasn’t meaning just let it go, they should definitely fix their error!

No oil leaked on the ground. There's a big plastic covering under the engine which has to have a qt or so oil in it.

They should definitely be looking after that, I’d expect no less than pulling that cover off to clean it along with an engine shampoo treatment!

In about an hour, Lincoln roadside Assistance is flat bedding the MKC to the dealer and I'll get a loaner.

A whole lot of crying over spilled oil on a engine. LOL The engineers/mechanics are laughing cause you have spilled oil on your engine and somehow the oil will ruin your engine.

I really don't give a flying you know what about the engine. It's a lease. I didn't want to be without a vehicle.

It's not so much about just some spilled oil, it's righting the dealership's wrong and cleaning up after themselves. I know I wouldn't want my truck or car dripping on my nice clean floor or driveway after a simple oil change!

Honestly, I have Jiffy Lube to thank for "teaching" me to check those obvious points before closing the hood at the end of the service. Always check caps, dipsticks, etc before dropping it. Definitely aggravating especially when it's the dealership that messes up.

I do the same after every service at Quick Lane. Only takes a few seconds to check the dipstick, oil filler cap etc. Stuff happens.

righting the dealerships wrong is as easy as not taking your business there anymore. Simply fill out their customer survey and tell them why you wont come back and then head to the car wash and clean off your engine yourself. Lost business is a better motivator to do it right the first time than anything.
THLONE is right, they're laughing at you even though they're the screwups.
Only Lincoln dealer near me and that one is 15 miles away.
I don't care if they're laughing. Lincoln Roadside Service is flat bedding to the dealer and the dealer is giving me a Lincoln loaner.
I'm sure the mechanic that screwed up isn't laughing.

The dealer is doing what they should do. It's a lease. So no big deal.
Clean the engine, don't clean it. Just clean the areas that is causing the burnt oil odor in the vehicle.
The engine compartment in my Ranger is detailed. 5he MKC lease, I never opened the hood and it's 8900 miles till now.
