I went on a short trip, and left my truck at the airport. When I was parking at the terminal, the normal pre-collision or parking sensor sounds went off as I pulled into the spot.

When I was pulling into my garage when I came home a few days later, the warning went off again, as it always does, but the SOUND was different. It was a higher pitched beeping.

Did something change through a software upgrade? Has anyone else noticed a change in the sound?

I can post a video if necessary.

The sound changes when your battery gets a bit low, given your explanation, could be the case here, take it for a nice long drive
Thanks! I would have never guessed that could have been the culprit. I guess I could check the manual. ?

This happens on occasion and in my case, the battery's fine...it's a Ford glitch...once in a while, it wants to sound like a toy truck...

And the battery.
They don't last all that many years on average, although there are some here that have had real good service out of theirs.

I had that sound when my battery was getting ready to depart. Once replaced it went away. Also noticed that I couldn't unlock the vehicle from the rear doors when the battery was getting low. That also cured itself with a new battery.

Mine does this on occasion too. It's a higher pitched sound like someone squeezing the neck of a chicken and it's gasping for air!?

YES! That is the sound, but what you do to your chicken in your truck is none of my business, Dave. ?

can the sounds be elimated on reversed, or muffled? I did this on another vehicle I have. I used some foam on the buzzer/speaker thing and worked out well. Still hear it, but the high pitch tone was reduced significantly. I guess I could try to locate where the buzzer is and do the same.

I think that the answer about the battery must be correct. I drove it again tonight, and the sound was back to normal. My truck is just over 3 years old, so the battery could easily be on the way out.

Thanks, everyone.

The T/Shoot for this is lacking, but you have 2 Chime (Sound) sources
1. The IPC (has a small speaker) on it - It is primarily for the (Turn Signal) Click
2. The Sync System uses the (Front) Speakers as Primary for all other Chime Tones

However, what the manuals fail to mention (as I THINK) what happens if the SYNC System has an issue (Low Voltage) - (System Off - To Save Battery) Etc
All chimes will default to the IPC Speaker - and its sounds distorted, or it attempts to produce the sound through the Front Speakers (Center) being primary for the B&O System and due to the Voltage Issue (Its Distorted) or (Amped) Up Incorrectly

I have not experienced this (YET) but when it does happen, I intend to pay attention to where the sound comes from.

Either Way - The IPC is the Controlling Module - For where it places the Sourced Sound - IPC or Audio System

It seemed like the unusual chime sound was coming from the main dash cluster or driver's speaker and not the B&O center speaker.

Front of the shifter on console, the center button, lower row...cancels warning audio...
