Well, I had to check and make sure I was on the right track. https://www.yukongear.com/shop/ygk161

On the product page it specifically states the M190.
There's a video Dana put out on their FB page about the housing and gears. Look it up. Just trying to give you any info on what might be something to look out for. It was from right before I installed them.

I asked Yukon about a 4.46 kit instead of the 4.88 and was told they wouldn't have 4.46 gears available in the front for at least two years.

Just use ford racing. They are factory made gears from Dana.

Yeah I think that I will follow your plan closely.

I'd like to do the 4.46 gearing at the same time as installing ARB lockers. My XLT doesn't have the rear locking differential.

As far as I can tell from your write-up, it looks like I can pair the gears with ARB lockers and be good to go?

Well, the front I was only able to find with the carrier. You might have to search a bit more to find the ones without the carrier. You might have to either reach out to Dana to see if they have those or through ford directly. The rears can be found for sure without the carrier.

Ahhh, gotcha! Thanks! And seriously man, I can't thank you enough for starting this thread and doing the work. I'd been watching the discussion from the start, lurking, and was the biggest reason that I joined the forum overall.

Glad others know enough to know when they need gears.

Oh I was face palming when I read through the early threads saying just to use the buttons to lock out gears. The frustration was palpable. Absolutely a "wtf" moment from people not understanding anything about how gears work and ridiculous arguments about how transmissions work. Seems every forum has guys like that, so I'm glad you stuck with it.

My truck is going to be finished today (most likely) for the re-gear. Where in Forscan is the setting? I wish you could tool around the menus without it hooked up to a vehicle, because I don't want to spend a bunch of time in the parking lot...

Hey @Colo_Ranger , I went back through the thread but maybe missed where forscan changes were discussed. Are the forscan changes for the speedometer reading, shift patterns or something else? I've got my parts ordered and on the way, so want to make sure I'm up to speed on everything.

The changes in for scan will update from the standard 3.73 gears to whatever gear that you choose, in my case 4.88. This will make all of the electronics play nicely, knowing that the gears are a different ratio. Specifically, it will make sure that the speedometer is correct.

That's good to know! I was wondering if I'd have to do something hacky with forscan to adjust the tire size for the speedometer because I didn't know there was a gearing section. I'll see if I can find it and report back if I do.

This video raised something I did not think about, clearance for oil. it showed the 4.70's doing fine, was that the same housing from our Ranger? I know they mention Bronco. That new housing is pretty cool but I would not want more than 4.70 anyway since I only have 33".

While I want them just for towing and overall fun, I am guessing it would probably make it a close race with a 2024 Ranger Raptor, considering they are 700lb heavier.

Google shows it under the BCM and axle gears. I will check it out when I get the truck back. I will post back when I know.

This was all about the OE M210 from the Bronco. The M190 is different. Shop was confident in the clearances on my front, so... I am confident too.

I will say this, I chose a gear ratio that is available in the Dana FDU. God forbid something happens to my M190, I can swap in the FDU and keep the rear the same. This was by design.
