I only have about the bottom half of mine working too. But did your connector come off? Also, what's that gaping hole on the left?

Accidentally ripped the electrical stuff on it. Hole on the left is the seatbelt that’s taken out rn

Oh, mine just degraded on it's own. The tab is still intact.

only my driver's side connector is on and the passenger side is dangling like your photo. rear defroster still works fine.

i watched a number of videos on that permatex product and it looks like it should do the trick. it just may not be visually perfect. i decided i'd just let it go since the defroster was still fine rather than try to draw thin lines, screw it up, and probably add too much goop and it looks worse than it did broken.

I should give that a try. Do know if that will work on the thick vertical side pieces? The thin horizontal lines are actually in good shape.
I don't know for sure, but I think it should work. If the kit for the thin lines doesn't work, you could try the tab repair kit. Both kits have conductive paste to restore the connection.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, just resolder it back on, vs the adhesive of the kits.

Ford makes a Term Repair Kit - P/N 4F1Z-14421-AA, listed in the manuals, it comes preset with solder, so just clean and set and let the solder flow with the gun, or just reuse the old one with fresh solder.

For Grid Repair -Ford Silver Grid Compound - P/N -(PM-11) is the spec part number for the conductive compound, pricey as compared to the Permatex

Just wanted to throw out options, I have used the Permatex type on another vehicle and it did not hold long, ended up just resoldering it and it was a perm repair. (term - repair)

Well I just noticed I have no rear defrost at all. The tab has come disconnected, along with the previous multiple compromised horizontal segments. Considering replacing the whole damn window. Quote from Safelite for self-pay is $446. Doesn't seem terrible.

That’s a Great Price - as the glass alone is $330

I find the sliding window to be one of the most unused features on my truck. If I was to replace mine I'd see if there was a solid one with the defrost.

I think I've opened my rear window maybe twice?

My defroster tab came off due to some roughhousing teens back there and I repaired it with the Permatex kit.

That's been a couple years ago I think.

Not that I ever use the rear defroster.

Amazingly, a near vertical piece of glass doesn't seem to accumulate a lot of frost.
