Resorts have their advantages especially with teen agers, but the cape is the anti resort.

No Mc Ds or any other fast food.
No wally world, target etc.
No huge miniature golf, go carts etc.
No high rise condos or hotels.
Piggly wiggly and the cape trading post will keep you in supplies.

Yes to:
Laid back beach community.
Dog friendly beaches and beach houses.
Family owned and operated restaurants.
Camp fires allowed on the beach at night.
Sitting around the campfire, on the beach, under a starry sky with family and friends is certainly one of life's special treasures.

The sunsets here are just as good if not better than in AZ! The sky changes color fast here, these were taken 5 minutes apart.

We had just pulled in the driveway the other night as the sun was setting. AZ did have some really nice sunsets especially when it got really hot in the spring. This one here I took a couple years ago walking around the lake near our AZ house. The sky looks like it was on fire that night. Probably was it's so darn hot there! lol

It happened overnight, so we missed it. We could tell the other one was getting ready but it happened when we were having breakfast and we missed it - it happens that fast!

Wow - I would have guessed it was a community along a canal in Florida before I would guess Estrella Lakes. Very nice.
