Anyone get the 24B47 done to their truck. and did it work?

It's supposed to fix intermittent problems with the center screen going black. It's a software update so it can't be OTA according to Mother Ford.

I got it done last Friday and I see no difference I had the mobile unit come to my house and they did it only thing is they were not ready to do it and had to download it to their computer and load it on a USB drive and that took three hours to do, after that it took ten minutes to update it.

I had many problems with sync. Mostly with navigation. It wouldn’t keep memory on things like history and favorites. The unit would freeze up and go into a black screen. Needed to constantly perform sync reset to bring it back to life.

That bulletin does not give details on the version . I have been stable since doing the upgrade.
no more trouble..I’m guessing that they are probably performing the same exact thing if you bring it in.

Having it done on Thursday (15th). I haven't really experienced any issues with the sync.

I really believe this is Ford's way of getting everyone's SYNC up to the latest stable version. The pervious version had a lot of bugs and they wanted to get it out of circulation. They know what version your running, so that is why some are not getting the notification.

Version 3.4.23188 has been out for quite awhile. I've been on it for probably close to a year, and haven't seen a notification.

How were you notified/find out that an update was available??

So three separate updates seem to be discussed in this thread:
1. Core Sync software needs updating (24B47) via a visit to dealer or mobile service if available,
2. Sync OTA/USB (if you are not already on 23188) and the
3. Navi maps (current version is NA 2 23... can't find Ford telling me what the a newer map version is but one is available )

Have I got this correct??

The reason I say this is if it was also a module firmware refresh, it would be for everyone not just selected people.

This thread was first I heard about it. Digging around, it looks like I’m affected but when I go to the Ford site and enter my VIN, I get nothing. I wonder if it’s gradual to keep from overwhelming dealers
