Rob, if you do a bit of searching you'll find out who makes Motorcraft ULV.....guess who.....Valvoline Global !!!

Like I said, it is good stuff - with as particular as the 10R80 is, I just personally wouldn't want to take a chance there was something "unique" in the Motorcraft version. I doubt there is, but one never knows. They are both good - but expensive.

We can all thank Greg Abbot (governor of Texas) for this collecting of sales tax on internet sales mess. When he was the AG he went after Amazon to collect TX sales tax.

My issue with collecting sales tax is that the government if forcing businesses to become tax collectors without remitting the business of the expense. Seems to be crossing the line into forced servitude.

If the government wants to collect sales tax, they should collect sales tax, not force private industry to do it for them.

I think that there may be something missing in the Motorcraft version! And maybe in the Valvoline version too!

I look at it as one of two scenarios:

#1, Ford has a problem with something in the transmission and has a very custom additive package to help get it past the warranty period.

#2, They got the fluid mfg to make it so cheap that it's purchased at a tenth of the normal price and it's borderline crap fluid.

Me, I use the Motorcraft in case it's #1

I have a product recall.....

Not the dipstick the MBS sticker I sent from about dipstick #30 through to #195 was misrepresented when I bought them, they were not "plastic" as the mfg listed them, they were plastic coated paper, they since have discontinued them!

Anybody who put one on something that got wet, or was out in the weather, knows exactly what I am talking about, they probably have turned to crap and have been removed already.

So I am sending out proper Vinyl, UV resistant replacements, to anyone who wants one, I actually am a little disappointed in the new ones even, they are matte, not gloss, but at least they wont disintegrate in a car wash.

Message me your address and I will send out a proper outdoor all weather version?

Nice and glossy and still un-used !!!
Plan on keeping it and maybe in a few years, putting it up for auction at Mecum !!!!

I think MBS needs to diversify into the sticker printing business! I'm going to start thinking about what other crappy products that I may need MBS to manufacture!

Wow Mike! Excellent product. I received and installed the extended dipstick today along with exchanging 6qts fluid. Super pro packaging and thorough step by step instructions make the install a breeze. What a well thought out unit and the funnel works so nice.

I still think Ford blew it on fluid temps. 160F-180F temp range will increase the life of the transmission. Simply from a expansion coefficient difference between aluminum and steel parts.

BLUF: Does the car need to be on level ground (assuming stock suspension) or does the frame need to be level to check the fluid level?

Long time listener, first time caller here. I got me my amazing Fitzstick, installed it and after the heating and cooling steps I checked my fluid. I tried the TJC method and it looks like it is overfilled and when it warms up it looks even worse. Before I remove any fluid or change out to the PPE pan (I have one but I am terrified to kill the trans installing it), I want to make sure I am reading the dip stick correctly. So am I measuring the fluid sitting on level ground with a stock suspension (i.e. no lift) or do I need to put the truck on jackstands so the transmission is level?
