Considering you are in Orange County, surprised they have had that one sitting around so long. Aside from the ONE 2wd FX4, I have not seen any other 6G Rangers at two dealers. What I was surprised was seeing a F150 Raptor R and normal Raptor both in stock at one dealer. Guessing the markup must be quite high lol. Now, the Raptor R is something I wish I could afford.

here's the one I drove Sunday. On the phone they said $10,000 over msrp and then they come to $5,500 over.......it's been there about a week give or take.......the window sticker add on says $12,000 over.......
https://www.fairwayfordplacentia.com/inventory/new-2024-ford-ranger-raptor®-4x4-supercrew®-1fter4lr8rle23708/

but it sucks that it doesn't say the REAL price online and instead you have to call and hopefully get the right person who will tell you the actual price without driving there!

this one was marked at $10,000 over msrp for a week and today dropped to $5,000 over......hmmmm......they might be seeing the writing on the wall.....stop gouging us!! https://www.santamargaritaford.com/inventory/new-2024-ford-ranger-raptor-4wd-supercrew®-1fter4lr0rle21824/

I wouldn't have even drove out after seeing 5500 over sticker.
Why people pay over list price for an item that looses value, I’ll never get it.
If you knew how much it costs a manufacturer to build any vehicle, you'd drive a bicycle and be happy. Dealer's 'over MSRP' price is peanuts.

Confused, not sure how to read what you are saying? Vehicles are cheap or expensive to build? Either way I have never paid even MSRP for a new vehicle always under by a decent amount. Last one was the 2021 Ranger Lariat Supercab FX4 MSRP almost 40k paid 34k.

It's nice to see any vehicle that is marked up either sitting on a dealers lot or marked down. I think this high inflation has eroded a lot of people disposable income and even those that still have it are aware how much less buying power you have now.

I also think some have finally smartened up after seeing what happened with the Bronco and how much people paid just to be the first ones to own one. $20K+ over MSRP is insane for something that depreciates the minute you drive it off the lot. Now 3-4 years later Ford is offering $3k - $6K in rebates for one. lol But as always there's several still out there with more money than brains.

I was at my dealer for a Works Package (66,000mi in 37mos. Yeesh!) and
while waiting, I strolled the lot. They had about two dozen Broncos, a few were 2doors, and the rest were 4doors with the standard soft top and none had the optional insulation package that I could see. Only one MIC hardtop! Rebtes in my area on them range from $2000-$2500 depending on equipment. I'd be tempted to test drive one on a below zero day to see how the heating and road noise is. It seems the hardtops are mostly constrained to retail orders.

the second dealer I listed that just dropped the price from $10K over to $5K over is where I bought my Tremor......still stings that I paid $1,500 over msrp but in hindsight I really didn't know exactly what I was getting and it turned out to be the best truck ever!!....after 2021 Ford deleted more little crap....like the hood struts......but more importantly for me is that after 2021 the Ford Performance Tune isn't CARB legal is CA.....I hate the smog BS rules in CA but that's for another day!!......but I hope these sleazy dealers start to realize the "game" has changed and now the buyers are in charge and won't pay OVER msrp and hopefully we start getting deals under msrp.......cuz the inflation sucks and so do interest rates......the days of easy $$$$ for dealers is soon to be over.....at least I hope, to make up for them ripping us off in the past few years!!

Same here?
See, thats what makes car buying great.
I got my 21 tremor under invoice. I was ready to walk away and just keep driving my old 2013 f150. I wasn’t expecting that price. I got to the dealer and it was already listed under invoice. Then I got another $500.00 off for a 1st responders discount

It’s a disposable object, I will never pay over the list price for a vehicle (new).
Some people just gotta have it! So they will gladly line the dealers pockets with free money.
Somebody must have bought the $93,000 bronco raptor my local dealer had on the showroom floor finally! ?

My 3 bedroom 2 bath house on an acre of land I bought and did some work to cost me 79,000 25 years ago. I figure it’s worth double that at least now.

What’s a raptor, ranger, bronco, etc worth in 25 years?
We are not taking 60s muscle cars here.

Riverside in Havelock, NC has a blue Ranger Raptor (link removed as it's dead now) with the extra graphics. If someone here decides to get it, I suggest asking for Albra and mention John with the Cyber Orange Ranger Thunder. But, it does look like they are asking $5k over sticker, but it's been there over a month, so maybe they are ready to drop that if asked.

EDIT: It was sold.

Thank you for the honest write up, I still want one, but a pre-runner 5G is causing me to veer off my original goal of if a 4 door Ranger Raptor comes to the US I’m going to get one.. street legal and carb legal 400 hp isn’t easy in this unfortunately becoming commie state (I don’t want to give up on this state even though I’m originally from Michigan ((just like my Tremor)) #BringCaliBack)
Not a big fan of the huge Tesla screen either but I’m sure it can be dimmed to a less obnoxious brightness. Typically I have one of my navigators with me (wife or one of our kids.) so I can just focus on driving and just call out what I want and they can play with the screen.. mainly this is probably the best route to go Ranger Raptor for us Cali folks if we don’t want to be pulling bits off to return to stock before dealing with lovely emissions regulations.
Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts… did you get to select Baja drive mode while testing?

Also keep in mind that most tuners also fix the e-throttle body to be much more responsive to % of pedal depress.

My guess is if the Raptor "feels slower" it is actually this one variable more than any other.

My ZR2 is no different, it feels like a boat on acceleration compared to my 19' Ranger (even loaded with 700lbs of gear) with a 93 performance tune because I've yet to address the typical factory settings for e-throttle bodies.

ZR2 = 315HP / 430TQ

Ranger 93 Performance Tune = 350HP / 410TQ

Same size wheels/tires. ZR2 "feels" half as fast currently at anything other than WOT.

I plan to pick up a Banks Pedal Monster at some point.

I just had a little hiccup with my trans in my 2021 Lariat Tremor but it was taken care of very quickly and professional under warranty at Tuttle-click ford in Irvine.....so it drives as smooth as it did when it was new!!

The Ranger Raptor is about 800 lbs heavier then the 5th Gen Tremor so that diminishes the HP a little bit and it sure does feel heavier and not to mention that the steering feels heavier as well.....I have the Ford Performance Tune since my truck was new and I love the way it drives....quick and less turbo lag and quick shifts......so I was kinda bummed that the new Ranger Raptor didn't feel quite a bit faster/quicker! Honestly, My Tremor is probably damn close to 0-60 as the Ranger Raptor.

Also, when I first got in the RR to test drive it the rear lock diff light was on and it took the sales guy a few minutes to figure out how to turn it off.....in our trucks it's a simple button next to the gear selector but it's in the giant screen menu on the RR.....

I actually like the side steps better on my Tremor as well then the RR running boards....

I honestly don't think it's worth it to upgrade from a Lariat Tremor to a RR......rims are similar.....my front end looks similar with the Ford Performance grill.......power seems similar......hell my MBRP cat back exhaust has a nice growl as well....NO I didn't drive it it Baja mode but I wasn't impressed after my 10 minute test drive so I just drove it back to the dealer....

the greedy dealers are asking $10K over although I've seen 2 sell locally for $5,000 over msrp......and don't forget the difference in gas milage.....I get 14 mpg with my Tremor but I drive it balls out....the RR will be worse!!.....

and I'm pretty sure the RR has a lower tow rating then our Tremors! the Tremor has a 7,500lb tow rating and the RR is 5,510lbs....

my Lariat Tremor is for sure 90% of with a RR is and mine is paid for!!......they look a little cooler but not worth upgrading and paying a shitload difference between trade-in value and new price plus tax plus the dealer mark-up.....plus any upgrades like the spray in bedliner and bed cover that I have.....that's another $2000.......so no, doesn't make sense for ME.......

Honestly it’s the truth that the Ranger Raptor doesn’t make sense if you compare it to getting a 2021-2022 Ranger Tremor ford Performance tuned nice proper wheels, long travel suspension, street legal pre runner ish build. Xlt or lariat versions (personally wish the xlt came with the better headlights since I prefer the dated gauges of the XLT.)… the argument against buying the RR IS absolutely on point and truthfully I do agree to the point where I’m even sold on the thought of getting a 2022 XLT Ranger Tremor build instead (since fpt isn’t carb approved for 2023 Ranger tremors ((currently)). For me it’s basically the Truck I like that it’s V6 turbo I like the new headlights and bodywork (not more than the 5G though not less.) I like the all time awd/4wd, I will be getting a white one or getting it white to match our current 5G Tremor to match, I do like the RR seats more than the tremor xlt and the lariat ones with thelittle leather center detail I like the layout and look of the interior (shifter, cup holders, vents and steering wheel with the color marker on the grip part of the wheel.) I’m team buy a RR, it’s under the philosophy of that’s my TRuCK that’s the one I want to drive daily and it may not be as super bad ass as the hype. Reading the honest review from the OP and your additional review (thank you also for sharing your experience too.) it showed me I want the RR because I want the RR as I’m convinced for that for whatever reason even if I had a decked out tremor that’s faster and more capable or a fi50 Raptor R I’d still want the Ranger Raptor. Can’t explain why exactly, just well I love the RR… I do love my Ranger tremor stock (modding coming soon but it’ll be tailored towards wifey.)… I’ve been trying to talk myself out of getting the RR but it’s the only one that just keeps sticking anyway sorry for rambling on and on. The feedback is very helpful in helping me come to a conclusion… it’s like Goldielocks the F150 Raptor is too beefy, the modded tremor 5th gen is too spicy (and in tech I’ll have one also since wifey caught the sickness for wanting to mod our current one)… this 6th Gen RR is just right.. for me.
I probably have brain damage or something wanting a Ranger raptor over a f150 Raptor..
If you got this far I apologize I’ve had a couple of nice beverages so ya not a excuse just a explanation, cheers guys
