I had a cheap Charbroil for years, had to replace the entire firebox once because of the rust. Luckily it was still warranted. After that pain-in-the-ass adventure I swore I would buy a better grill next time. I was seriously considering a Weber, then found a steal of a deal on a lightly used Napoleon. It has been a fantastic grill. I use much less gas than the Charbroil. It has awesome stainless grates. Has a rotisserie (still haven't used that). Has an external searing station. After several years of using it, one day I decided to clean it, and it was so easy. And the firebox is still in great shape.

I have a Natural Gas line run out to mine , haven't bought propane in over 20 years , most grilles come with propane orifices in them but can easily be switch out for NG (or just make the hole bigger )

I do like the looks and features of the Napoleon I looked at online.

Made in Canada IIRC. Weber are good grills but they are a global company.

Now that we're moving and will need a new grill I've been looking at these two. I've always had great luck with Weber but this Napoleon has now caught my eye. I love the way it folds up and the wheels look way more sturdier than the weber cart.

I use a Weber and a Vortex every day …

I don't know how much grilling you do, but you want to br sure that you don't get one that's too small, only to regret not getting one bigger. We bought a Napoleon Rogue 425 XT last year for just the two of us. Fantastic grill and top tier quality throughout. Even heating,, side burner, fairly economical on propane and plenty of cooking surface to grill two steaks and a tray of veggies plus warm up sauces or gravy on the side burner Easy cleanup and a freakin' 15 year warranty.
Note: the instructions (euphemism) are stick drawings only like IKEA furniture,, but there are YT vids and Lowes,, anyway, offers assembly. I was grilling the same day I put tt together, so not too tough.
Stores inside the garage when not in use, and takes up slightly more room than a garbage can.

Thanks for the info Chris. It's good to hear you like the Napoleon grill that was my second choice when we did our outdoor bbq/kitchen here. We do a good amount of grilling and even there when it gets cold I'll just do what I did back east, take the smoke detector out and grill in the garage. I had one similar to the two I linked when we first moved here and had no problems cooking for 4-5 people on it. Then I added an outdoor kitchen/island and put in a huge Summerset drop in grill which was really nice but way to big. I like the portability of the Napoleon for when we travel we can take it along if needed.

I ended up going with the Napoleon Pro285X grill. They delivered it Wednesday and I put it together and cooked 6 chicken breast and a large sweet potato on it last night. One thing is this heats up quickly! I turned it on and went inside for no more than 3 minutes and it was already up to 450*. The cart is very sturdy and it wheels around easily. Dinner came out good but there's always a learning curve using a new grill and how long and what setting to use.

I've had NG for over 10 years so one shocker was the cost of the propane bottle and the price of propane now! A 20lb tank was $58.00 at Tractor Supply and $3.95/gal to fill it. Total OTD was $79.66 for both. o_O

Cool grill!

One thing I ran into a couple of years ago was a propane station attendant that did t want to refill my tank because it was "out of date"...but he did anyway because I had taken good care of it. Apparently they have to be recycled or recertified and stamped with a new date at some point? Maybe one of yall can speak to this...
Anyways, I now use an Amerigas exchange service for my propane just so I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Yes that's true there's a date stamped on them and most places (because of the liability) wont fill them. I had a 30lb propane tank we used on the job site for painting garages in the winter. Eventually it was outdated but the main local lumber yard where I filled it would do it for me. I'm sure it helped I bought some of my supplies there and I know the owner who (like you) knew I took care of it. If I didn't do this I'd have 20+ garages to do in the spring and it wouldn't be fun having every customer unload their garage.

With the new house I'm going to have a propane line for the grill run to the pack porch. Also once it's framed and I can see the grading I might have a slab poured outside of the porch for a separate small grilling area. I'm also adding a line in the garage for that same pot heater. With it being spray foamed it'll only take a few minutes to get it up to temperature so I can wash and detail my truck during the winter. ?

Yup. propane has nearly doubled at TSC at least. $3.89/gal here in Sconnie. We have Blue Rino exchange at the Dollar General store, but I don't know what it costs anymore-maybe I should check.

One thing about Napoleon's, they are very efficient. You may get by on less than two tanks for the year if you cook a lot.

I looked into the Blue Rhine tanks and they're only 15lbs and cost $68.00 pre filled at Lowe's. So while they're a little cheaper you're getting a smaller tank with less propane. Good to know they are efficient! I was going to buy another 30lb tank because I hate running out while cooking but knew I really wouldn't need it once we move again.

That'll be your initial cost, but the refill won't be but half that.
But I guess you know that already.

I was more shocked to see the tank at $58.00. I think the last time I bought one they were around $20.00 ish. lol But everything had just about doubled in the last 4 years so I guess I should've expected it. :curse:

Hey, it's the Polish in me still hoping/looking for cheaper prices. ?
