Hey oh everyone. Welp I’m teaching the kids how to drive and it’s certainly been an adventure. The youngest (16) first driving lesson had a minor panic and confused the brake and gas pedal in reverse and took out the neighbors fence post, left a dent in the bumper and took out part of the tailgate which was down as we were unloading some stuff with it down.

I’m gonna need some parts to get the tailgate back on (I’m not even gonna bother with an insurance claim right now 3 teenage boys have done enough to my premiums as it is and I’m almost positive there’s gonna be a few more “incidents” I’ll just wait till I find one in a yard to replace the bumper and tailgate)

first pic is the damage to the bumper, second is the tailgate (luckily the top of it took the brunt). Third pic is the plastic part I need to find for the other side, fourth pic is the other side missing the plastic. Fifth pic is the one side on the tailgate which seems to have plastic parts the other side is missing in the sixth pic. So basically I need a bunch of plastic parts in order to get the tailgate back on.

Thanks in advance for any help helping me source part numbers for these plastic parts.

Ouch!

The Ford parts site @airline tech recommended is pretty good. Out of curiosity, I input 2019 Ranger XLT.

The exploded parts diagram is decent so you should be able to find what you need. Benny @LevittownFordParts.com will take good care of you if needed.

Being that you need a list of parts, I suggest going here (Link Below)
and using this as a basic search for the P/N's needed.
Then use that for price shopping (Local dealer / Ebay / Rock Auto) or Benny a forum sponsor

Ford & Lincoln OEM Parts Store | Ford Parts Direct (oemfordpartsdirect.com)
I’m not gonna lie that site looks like just about every other site I was trying to google with and as soon as I clicked on one random part they all had the same shopping cart icon and they sent my spidey senses off about a scam site and I left and never went back (I work in tech and deal with a lot of scam bs on the daily with folks).

Ouch!

Ouch is right. So far between 3 boys I’ve gone through: a set of brake pads, tires, one rim (if any one can find a curb it’s the now 18 yo), one ford edge front bumper (thankfully the person who owned the edge that they sent my tow hitch through was Uber cool when I said I can prolly find this at a yard cheaper and quicker than an insurance claim and we lucked out and they had a mint one in their color and I had em fixed by the end of the day) annnnnnd have added more than a few gray hairs to my chin for the combined experiences. Have I mentioned that the ranger is one tough dang truck? (Not included are the random meetings with ditches, low hanging tree branches, an unknown attraction to finding the absolute largest potholes known to man…it’s been an adventure to say the least and there’s days where I believe that the truck must think I absolutely hate it)

I’ll head back to that first site now since both yall have eased my “this site seems shady” sense.

On the bright side from this latest adventure and coming here to originally look up the P139C code the truck threw at me yesterday (which hasn’t come back since I cleared the code) that the DPFE sensor appears to fix the hucka buck it’s done at 25-30mph on flats for the last who knows how long that ford CaNt RePlIcAtE so it looks like I’m gonna be adding that to my order with @LevittownFordParts.com when I figure out what plastic bits I need

I can verify that the website is valid, they are actually a local dealer in the KC Metro, close enough for me to drive and pick up parts - (No Shipping), they match closely what Benny's prices are and cheaper for me due to (local pickup)

They are far better in prices than my closest dealer who (MARKS UP) their prices, I went around with my local dealer over that, imagine being quoted $1700 for a part from my local dealer and if I drive 30 minutes, I can get the same part for $1100, Note: the part in question is in the exact same warehouse and sitting on the exact same shelf location.
Their only reply was - we cannot get you that part for that price - Period

So I’m pulling this apart and looking at what I have in the pictures it looks like I just need a part 12 for the drivers side? The other parts appear to be all there from what I can tell?

Damn it man ! Get them out of the Ranger ! Let them learn to drive in a truck that doesn't really matter , like a new Tacoma or Colorado or something ?...
That's kinda what I was thinking, but was too skeerd to say it out loud.

BLASPHEMY!!!! If you ever see either of those in my driveway you’ll know I’ve passed on

The “Danger MF Ranger” as they’ve aptly named it has been a good choice for them to learn on tbh for a number of reasons. If anything driving it alone has changed their minds about the size vehicle they actually want after initially them wanting what all teenage boys want (little imports modded out that their skill won’t allow them to properly handle in various situations - I was there once lol) the two oldest are now looking at mid-full size vehicles after driving their friends cars (compacts) - the experience with a larger, heavier vehicle has them yearning for something much safer and I can’t shake a stick at that experience for them.

As for the shenanigans with blue - I live in the sticks, lots of dirt and gravel roads, brutal winters with insane amounts of salt, sand, and just about any other abrasive known to man, I could go on and on - point being I knew she was gonna get beat to heck the minute I signed the paperwork (tbh part of the reason I bought her and it’s been invaluable to me for all of the work on this house I’ve been doing on my own).

I’m gonna run her till the wheels fall off. I reckon it’ll be another 3-4 winters and she’ll be ready to go to “winter/I need to carry something status” and I’ll either buy another one or I might just buy a spring/summer/fall toy for myself (I’ve always wanted a new pony gt), or the youngest will be heading off to college or trade school then and it’ll get passed on to them and give me an excuse to buy another. I got options my friend

I can see you're a thinking man and have reasons for your choice of drivers ed vehicle. My apologies for questioning your choices!
Good luck with all your new drivers!

No worries at all and no apologies needed brother. Tbh the thought had crossed my mind about picking up a beater when the first one hit permit age but 2020 had other plans and I still refuse to spend the insanely inflated prices for a beater that they still want today (tho I do scroll fb marketplace a few times a week looking for a diamond in the rough bc the middle one wants to find something for us to have a project car to work on together and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve said you want how much for that 15 year old rust bucket falling apart at the seams?!)

on the bright side I can 100% say this truck is a beast. It’s survived 3 teenagers thus far on top of some highly questionable load/towing weight decisions made by me. more than a few times I’ve had 1.5 tons in the bed of the truck and it’s been absolutely no worse for the wear (I inspected everything after every load for any issues my decision would have caused not a single issue and have put 15k miles on since the last heavy load in the bed and everything still in good shape)
