That’s what I’m wondering also. 2019 Lariat. Would this fit with my OE blanket? I may pick one of these up, mines going on 5 years in July.

My 2020 4x4 gets up to 28 (almost 29 (28.7) on the highway at 50-55mph), and around 24 in town. But I have found a lot of that has to do with how well trained your transmission shift patterns are, and how heavy your foot is..

I get 24 all the time and average between 25-26 except when traveling longer distances. I have seen 28 even with stretches on I-95 doing 70mph for a 1/3 of the trip. I made that 220 mile (one way) run weekly for over a year. I drove all manner of ways to see what mileage I could obtain with the ranger. When I drove for mileage is when I could consistently achieve just above 28MPG (keeping the RPMs below 2000 at all shift points). My normal driving style netted me 25.5-27 MPG. Tooling around town locally gets me 24-25.5 MPG depending on traffic and stop lights.

Like any other vehicle, the heavier the foot, the more fun, and the less MPG.

I am 16 MPG in town and 24 on the road. It's only 4 miles to work so not too much mileage during the week. I do have the Unleashed tune and love it. I am about due for a battery as my Ford Pass App turns off things to conserve the battery and I do use a charger once a month or so also. 4 year Rangerversary coming up in October.

I drove pretty close to a granny to get that 28+ mpg. Much more normal at 24-25 though.

Bottom line is having fun driving cost money. And the more fun the more it costs.

And I drove that 225 miles about a half dozen different routes generally leaving at 2AM and arriving just before dawn. And leaving to get back home in the evening so as to avoid the traffic.

So to pass the time I had fun little experiments, one of which was to see how much mileage I could squeeze out of my Ranger.

And like I said, to get that 28+mpg required me to stay below 2K rpm, and stay at 70 or less on the interstate, then 60 or so on the back roads.

What I found interesting is that my home is at 500' above sea level and I was driving down to the low country of South Carolina which is right at 10' above sea level. My mileage dropped 1.5 - 2mpg coming back over going down there.

I was also caught in several very nasty down pours, and found that water ended up in my intercooler plumbing resulting in the truck almost stalling when throttling up for several seconds at a time. It happened to me on 3 separate occasions.... always in a heavy rain storm. Everything normal until putting your foot down, then serious stalling for a few seconds followed by normal operation.

I have taken my 1993 Supercharged Miata to VIR on occasion to have a little fun.... and I used to go to the annual Miata meet at Deals Gap to run the Tail of the Dragon. but it has been tamed by LE so it is not as much fun anymore. People kept driving off the edge.

Holy shiznits batman! 26 mpg, 24 what the heck!! What am i missing?? I get anywhere from 17 to 19. Biggest hill here is an overpass! Must be the air at sea level. Too salty.

You are working your truck. Running it hard, towing, etc. Mine is a commuter, long distance runner, and hauler. I use 4wd perhaps 6 times a year.
