I ordered a random set off eBay for this and they do not work. The hook is much shorter and part of the bracket gets in the way of the frame. Make sure you get actual Ford parts apparently.

Edit: It looks like @Sasktechy may have 2007 F150 hooks. The 2009 versions are shorter. When I did a quick check with my 2009 ebay hooks the ends were still underneath the bumper.

im not aware of the part numbers but ive seen a couple sets for the same ford trucks. i assume something to do with trim package. one set of the recovery points is called "long". thats the ones we want for the rangers.

Put on a pair of hooks myself today.
I reluctantly picked up a pair of Ford knock-offs on eBay. I wasn't sure if they would be strong, and the welds proper, but they looked good. I even lightly sanded the paint off the welds for inspection. A couple of sellers had pictures of their hooks with what I thought, looked like obvious pitted weld flaws you could see through the paint.

All I had to do was
Drill out the slotted end to 5/8" with a step drill for the factory bolt,
Drill the factory hitch for the rear holes,
Shim the rear hole with two fender washers on each side,
And put locking nuts on the rear bolts.

Oh, and touched up the black paint I sanded off.

End result looks just like Sped68 & Sasktechy's pics. Sasktechy's pics look like his stick out a little further than mine, but no biggie for me. They are quite usable and won't interfere with the bumper even with a thick strap.

I think the shadow in the picture below show my step bit mod better than looking at the tow hook itself. I couldn't get a decent pic.

Wish I had seen your post prior to buying the wrong ones. Yup, I made that mistake; buying the 2010s edition rather than the pre-2009 version (which I then bought and installed).

Once I had the correct hardware figured out it was a pretty easy installation.
