I hope this is posted in the correct section and has not already been discussed in another thread as I found nothing when searching.

Mods if this is in the wrong section, please move.

Others, if this has already been discussed in another thread please post a link.

I just realized the 2021 Tremor Pkg includes rear tow hooks.

If someone has information on this please post. If someone has a 2021 Ranger with the Tremor Off-Road Pkg, please post photos of the rear tow hooks.

Thanks

Tremor Package does include them, but they get removed with the Tow Package. Who has Tremor without Tow? I don’t.

Wow !!

I wonder why that is? Nonetheless my question is can they be added to a truck after delivery that doesn't have them. Where do they mount? I assume they are attached to the rear frame. Are the holes already available and if so are they plug-n-play?

I have sent my local dealer the VIN # from a truck equipped with the Tremor Off-Road Pkg. asking for an illustration as well as part #s for the rear tow hooks.

I made me some front shackle mounts and repurposed the hoops as rears. Painted everything Magnetic for a nice clean look. Not gonna say it was easy but turned out nice.

Can’t you just use your hitch as a recovery point? I also remember reading somewhere that your departure angle improved on the Tremor when you also added tow package.

I've always used a hitch shackle for rear recovery point.

Strong enough to lift the truck by so should be plenty for dragging out of a hole.

Plus the D-ring is much easier to attach a strap to than a tow hook and won't accidentally come off.

yes, the rear hooks are deleted with the tow package because they don't add any functionality you don't get from the hitch receiver. (and the hooks and the receiver are mounted to the same thing, so the two options interfere with each other.)

Agreed. I've hauled more than a few rigs out of a ditch or mud hole (and been hauled out myself) using just that rear hitch shackle. In a pinch, if I didn't have a shackle, just insert tow strap into hitch receiver and loop it around hitch pin.

Having said that, I can see a few instances where having a tow hook on each side in the rear could be beneficial, particularly for sharply angled pulls due to terrain, where getting a grab on hitch shackle could put a rear fender at risk of being crushed.

So if I'm looking at this right you welded a piece of square tubing to the top of the hooks and bolted that to the existing hitch mount? Have you tested this for strength/durability? I'd love a set of tow hooks for the rear as my hitch will sometimes have my bike rack attached.

Yes that's exactly what I did. I ripped a piece of thick wall 2" tubing and welded it to the modified front tow hooks and bolted em up in the rear. No testing has been done no. I would not want to sling load my Ranger from a Chinook from these, but they are more than up to the task of another vehicle snatching me out of some mud or whatever.
