I grew up with my dad driving across town to go to Discount until a small tire shop opened up right outside our neighborhood. We knew the owners and they took care of us. When I moved to the St Pete area, I looked for a discount tire only to find they basically don't exist down here. Weird. Had to go the Costco route instead.

I've bought Discount tires for years and always been happy with them. That said, their service people need to know that when a tire splits that means the tire has failed, not that it ran over a razor blade as I was told. I just had to replace a tire on my KIA Soul because it failed and I had to repay for road hazard on the replacement even though a phantom razor blade wasn't what killed the previous tire.

The poster would be wise to follow up with you, I sent a complaint to AZ HQ yrs back after I received a decent price for a set of Michelin Primacy for my Saab 9-5, I think it was around $500 , then went I went to buy and schedule I received a higher price. AZ HQ responded by giving me a huge discount, I think I got 4 of the Primacy for $400 , I had 2 Saab 9-5 and 6 months later needed tires on the other one and then gave me the same $400 price.
The people at their shops work there butts off and they are customer focused. And for my Ranger I will take it there for a free rotation and when tires need replacement I will go to Discount. It is very refreshing to find a company that is so customer focused.

I love discount tire, my local discount tire is a great shop -- the only complaint I ever have is the installation costs usually make them a lot more than Costco which is my second choice. Sometimes they are able to match and sometimes they can't since Costco includes installation and the full road hazard warranty in the price.
