Hi everyone,

My auto stop/start has been working great, all of the sudden, now it turns the engine off but the engine immediately starts back up again?

The temp outside is in the 80's, I am not in sport mode, my foot is hard pressed on the brake pedal and the auto stop/ start screen says "Normal Engine Operation". WTH can be causing this?

Thanks!

Anything plugged into the outlet in the rear of the center console? Mine would do that when it was drawing power.

At least on the lariat there's a screen under the fuel economy menu that tells you the reason start/stop won't start. Could be the AC is working too hard, could be it's stopped too much and battery is charging, etc

All that screen says is normal engine operation.

All that screen says is normal engine operation.
While you're stopped in drive with your foot on the brake? Normal engine operation is what it should say while you're driving.

Temps in the 80s could cause the AC to be running so no Start Stop during that condition. I actually did the LED Nightlight in the AC plug hack to keep my S/S from engaging! Don't like how it operates in traffic so I was manually turning it off every time I got in the truck. now I don't have to worry about that as the nightlight keeps it from engaging at all!

hi, I think you may have solved this issue for me. My grandson was in my truck and I believe he had something plugged into the AC outlet, thanks!

I have noticed that if I have the AC going, it will stop for a bit and then restart if it starts warming up in the cab. It seems fairly intelligent.

Yes, I am guessing there's a sensor and see that the coil is warming up, so it starts it up to get the coil cold again.

Easiest and cheapest way is to plug something into the trailer tow connector. Maybe one of those light up receiver plugs or something.
