as per original message, get the petrol (gas) version or diesel version as appropriate, apologies i didnt provide both links ... here's a link to the petrol version , but also keep in mind, there are other brands available (including american etc) that do the same job: https://www.wynns.uk.com/product/petrol-egr-cleaner/

i dont know anyone who dismantles the engine to spray it straight into the throttle body, it doesnt hurt going up the air inlet (it actually says it cleans air inlets so its gotta start at the air inlet to do that) and it will also clean your MAF sensor whilst your there..

it also cleans the egr sensor by virtue of it being part of the egr vavle, and more importantly than all that, it cleans out Egr valve gunk which is probably all this problem needs anyway... for $15 your not going to cause any harm, and you may just fix the reading (presuming the sensor is fine)..

if the OP is confident enough they could alternatively just remove the Egr valve and clean it manually..

I appreciate you trying to help our and I’m sure this cleaner works great on your application. But no amount of spray cleaner will fix a bad DPFE sensor on our Gas 2.3L Ecoboost engines. The problem isn’t gunk like the diesels have which is its own unique problem. The DPFE sensor is not attached to the EGR valve . The DPFE sensors fail because of heat and moisture causing them to leak and send bad information to the computer. Again I appreciate your wanting to help but this could mislead someone into thinking this would work for them and actually may cause other issues. Our EGR systems and problems on the US gas powered trucks are totally different from your UK diesel EGR systems and problems

well, fair do's, are you saying your EGR valves never get clogged up? (petrol engines with EGR vales in euro still get clogged at higher mileages (depending on usage)) , the OP has done 90k miles and - presuming the sensor is actually ok - its complaining about a pressure problem ...

irregular pressure problems typically occur either due to holes or blockages in a passage where gases or liquids pass .. your still not going to damage your turbo or intercoolers in any case

p.s. we dont really have UK engines any more :/ the engines in Rangers sold in Europe are designed by Ford in Australia, parts made all over the world including Australia, China and Europe, assembled in South Africa

2.3 Ecoboost owners also have to be careful injecting things into our intakes. Reports are that liquids can easily pool in the intake. That would end up potentially letting a slug of liquid into the cylinder and bending rods.

i really dont mean to be at logger heads with everyone (big love to everyone ? ), but putting small bursts of an aerosol up the air inlet is akin to putting very moist air up the air intake .. or even perhaps going through a deep stream where engine heat vaouprises the surrounding water creating steam which gets sucked in, or the same with a deeply flooded road, or a rodent nesting in your air filter housing and taking a piss ..

moisture WILL get into your air inlet as part of the vehicles natural existence .. the engine is able to consume *small* amounts of unintended substances (including moisture and liquids via the air intake) without collapsing or blowing up ...

yes, pouring a bucket of water down the air inlet is going to break the engine...

(love the BWM x5 and it's right-behind-the-grill mounted air-intake they were using for a short while, hilarious under-warranty engine replacements abound! )

anyway, i shall refrain from pushing this matter any further , if i am ever in the position to get hold of a petrol (gas) 3.2 ecoboost, intercooled and turbo'd engine, i will spoil the egr valve and make a video demonstrating it being cleansed via aerosol

???

I’m a little confused. Is it the DPDE sensor or the or the EGR Balve position sensor because those parts look totally different on eBay motors
