2020 Ranger EGR Cooler Issue

My 2019 with almost 96k miles gave me the check engine light and the exhaust gas cooler message 250 miles into a 600 mile trip Sunday. Took it into the dealer at my destination and they confirmed P02457 code needing EGR cooler and transmission control valve replaced.. Covered under extended warrenty. I am now stuck 600 miles from home waiting on repairs.

After nine days at Citrus Ford in Ontario California (do not recommend) I picked up up the truck Wednesday evening. EGR Cooler and Transmission heater/cooler control valve replaced. Stopped to get gas 1/4 mile from dealer and check engine light came on with Emissions message. Drove from Ontario California to Vacaville California this morning (6.5 hours) with check engine light on. Monitored RPM, Temperature and general feel of truck. No issues. Got home unloaded truck, went to go through car wash and the check engine light was no longer illuminated.

I will take the truck to my local dealer to diagnosis the intermittent check engine light. Possibly a faulty gas cap/flap.

Local dealer diagnosed faulty EGR sensor. Had it in stock and replaced within 4 hours. Will see if that corrects/

My truck now runs as brand new with over 96k miles. A simple DPFE valve chane makes a world of difference,
