Thanks for posting this. It looks like people who have or plan on having bigger tires with a matching spare may not be able to get enough clearance. Even with the stock spare I think a wrap or heat shield would be a good idea. Maybe something like this Thermo-Tec clamp on shield.

I had all of the same problems with the cheap clamps and things not lining up correctly. Had to adjust it enough times to where I finally said F it and took it to get it welded. Looks like this now:

Exhaust sounds great (definitely louder and deeper than stock, but still pretty tame and not fart can sounding), and it makes the truck look like a mini raptor. I love it, but there was a moment where I didn’t lol

I promise the Gibson is WELL WORTH the money compared to other cat-back systems. The sound is a more mature one yes, but I've learned my lesson on loud mufflers in the past and they're best saved for cars w/ manual transmissions IMO. Plus look how much better this looks.

That’s it. I’m getting one. Done enough research. And I noticed the Gibson cat back sounds nice and quiet !! Also looks pretty flashy. I just need a new exhaust cause my factory one is burnt a hole through and makes my cab smell when I fire it up in the winter. Pretty dangerous if I have babies on board !

I emailed these Gibson people to see if they are making a 6' bed/supercab version yet. I got a nonsensical response. I started to respond in an attempt to clarify but decided it's gonna be like explaining color to a blind man. ?‍♂

Hello,
Thanks for contacting Gibson Performance and considering us for your exhaust needs. Unfortunately, we don't have or make dual exhaust tips sorry about that. You should try Google.

Sincerely,
Jerry Garnica | Tech & Sales Support

What difference would bed length make? I don't recall seeing any of these kits that were bed specific as the wheelbase is the same regardless. The hangers should all be in the same place.

It was on an older post on here about the exhaust only fitting supercrew. Hence why I emailed.

Got my Gibson installed yesterday. It sounds good but it's a little louder than I thought it would be. You can definitely hear it in the cab unless you are at speed and cruising. Driving the hilly backroads around the drone with all the shifting is kind of annoying. Anybody add resonators to the Gibson?

Can anyone tell the left pipe is 1/4" out further than the right?

Well, maybe I am using the term drone differently. But you definitely hear it as it shifts, and on moderate acceleration. It is noticeable about 80% of the time. Or am I just used to the super quiet stock system?

Super Cab with rear seat delete and not getting any drone, just louder than stock when you floor it’ Something to watch out for is brake lines & electrical wires come pretty close to the cross over pipe. Kit comes with a fiberglass type cloth & ty-wraps to shield the brake lines. Might be overkill, but I used aluminized fire sleeve on the brake lines & electrical cable, with high temp ty-wraps. Also a 265/70R17 31.6 in spare fits O.K. between the pipes.

BY cross over, you mean the part of the pipe on the front side of the spare? I'll have to look, not sure the shop would know what to do with the shield.
BTW, I just look at the Gibson website, boy I am glad I bought mine when I did, it now lists for 1117.50!

I think you've got the wrong idea on drone, its more that constant tone/noise you get at cruising usually at highway speeds. Its normal to hear an aftermarket exhaust during acceleration.

Yes where the pipe goes from one side to other behind the spare tire. Bought mine in 2022 for $725.00

I just checked, the shop installed the heat shield and did nice job! I paid $784.

I think @Scotty_J describes what I am experiencing pretty accurately. From 2019:
" Not so much drone. There's definitely a "presence"; more bass, and you can actually hear the engine. And you realize how much this thing shifts through those ten gears. "
Wonder what my wife will say when she hears it.
