Per the internets

Turn key on but do not start

Flash the brights 5 times

Then press and release the brake pedal 3 times

The battery light that was steady should flash at you to say it is done.
Thanks!

I got this message on the truck about 3 weeks ago for the 1st time (the ignition was off and the key was not in it) then started it and took a drive and this message has not appeared since. I am retired so sometimes the Ranger sets 3-5 days without being driven because I consolidate my trips to save gas and keep down the mileage as low as possible. It was very hot in our high desert area around the time I saw this message so these two conditions possibly could have resulted in the message.

I had the original battery replaced in March of this year and no issues so far with it. Hoping that it is not faulty this soon and caused the message for that reason.

Also, I have a new BatteryMINDer and this thread is a ReMINDer that I need to install it soon which should indicate the actual condition of my battery.

I didn't even know that battery savers existed until I got on this forum. This model was recommended to me by some reliable sources.

I have this unit on all my cars, and it works. On the 2020 Ranger it works best when used in conjunction with (Use Forscan) BMS turned off. I set battery to 90% SOC as well. Battery recovered to better than new condition in 6 months time.

Along this line of battery woes ....

Over the last few weeks the FordPass app tell me that remote features were disabled to preserve battery life and I should go out for a drive (presumable to charge the battery up).

The truck is showing zero signs of any struggles with the battery though (cranking up, etc.) and when I check the battery I'm consistantly getting a 12.3 (which everything says is the sweat spot where it should be).

So is the general concensus to just change the battery? (I'm hesitant to do that with it testing normally.) Has anyone found any other tricks that worked for them?

It's a sign of a weak battery but I had this massage for a year before a good cold snap killed my first battery.

Has anyone ever seen this message come up on the start up screen. From my experience this doesn’t allow me to us3 the remote start. I took it to O’Reillys for a battery check and it tested okay.

If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated

I think most of us have seen this. It is because Ford set the max charge of the battery way too low. Using Forscan I upped mine to 90% and since then have never seen this again, even after the truck sat at home unused during a 2 week vacation. Another advantage I have seen since increasing the battery percentage is my fuel mileage has increased about 1mpg per gallon.
