Ditto, hated issuing tickets. That is some sort of stupid right there.
I never wrote tickets for accidents unless there was a undrivable vehicle or injury, or in rare circumstances some dumb shit like that happened. I consider it an idiot tax.
That is not an "accident" , just straight up negligent entitlement.
Me too! If you messed up someone's property, or you messed up someone, I wrote ya a ticket. I didn't write speed control. You were probably getting a ticket if you ran red lights and stop signs. If I yelled at you on the side of the road, I wouldn't write the ticket. Sometimes, I offered the choice; "I'll give you a choice. Do you want a ticket, or do you want me to tell you how stupid what you just did was?" ?Ditto, hated issuing tickets.
Nah, in the middle east they wreck the cars and leave them burning on the side of the road.Dang! Sounds like Florida drivers act like middle east drivers. Totally glad I upgraded to a Summit bumper after my parking lot incident.
Gotta love those ARB summit winch bars, strong as an ox, love the Rhino rims too. I have the same bar except mine is painted to match the car. You really need to do something with that NSW plate though, as it offends my Queensland eyes.Ughhhhhhh. Just a mere two weeks after a road-rager struck my wife's new Bronco Sport on purpose, a young lady drove her Honda into my Ranger while I was on a quick work errand. I estimate $3500 to $5000 in damages to her car, while I'd say I got off pretty damn lucky.
On the downside, I feel a little bad. At the moment of impact, I looked over and saw her, and started screaming obscenities at her. I've been down here in South Florida for two years now and have been involved in three not-at-fault collisions (this being the third incident). I've had it with the shitty drivers down here. They will literally make eye contact with you, and then steer into you because they want to occupy your lane. There is just an unnatural level of selfishness on the roads here, and people are all too willing to risk other people's safety to do stupid crap like turn left from the farthest right lane, across 3 lanes of traffic, to make their turn. (Moments before the collision, I saw some guy do just that, running a red light across 8 lanes collectively.) So, I had enough and started yelling at this young lady.
It turns out, she was pretty cool, calm, and collected about it. She told me that she thought I could see she was trying to get over. She kept a nervous smile on her face and was polite during our whole interaction. She was nice enough that I actually apologized to her for yelling at her and commended her on keeping her cool and not letting anything escalate.
But there is no doubt, though, that she was at fault. And I got off pretty damn lucky.

I’m not the OP, but I do have an ARB Summit front bumper and I’m very happy with it. Very high quality and the shop doing the install (Dixie 4 Wheel Drive in St George, UT) was able to relocate the adaptive cruise control radar and parking sensors, no problem. I haven’t hit anything with it yet, but so far, highly recommend.Looks like a good advertisement for ARB & Black Rhino…. Having said that, how do you like your front bumper and wheels? I’m about to purchase a Tremor and my research steers me to ARB and Black Rhino.
Definitely not where I was at. You had to get a police report for anything and everything. I got in a wreck and had to drive to the police station and pay for a report. Once you have the report you can get your vehicle worked on. It was a hassle, but I understand why. They were trying to fight exactly what you brought up.Nah, in the middle east they wreck the cars and leave them burning on the side of the road.
In south florida they wreck them, call a lawyer and try to sue everyone who is nearby.
Might could be. I'm about a half-hour west of Boone out in Ski Country.hmmmm. sounds like your NC home is eerily close to mine.
This friendly feud/rivalry reminds me of similar jabs the people in Sydney would make about Canberra. This t-shirt was popular in the shops in Sydney when I visited a lifetime ago.Gotta love those ARB summit winch bars, strong as an ox, love the Rhino rims too. Did you know that during Covid, we, for the first time since Federation, blocked our southern border with NSW and set up police road blocks, checkpoints, razor wire, and machine gun towers, to keep those filthy southerners out. Ok I exaggerate slightly, there were no machine guns in the towers.
After Covid ended I think that many Queenslanders secretly wanted the roadblocks to stay.
Where it got difficult was where the border runs through Coolngatta / Tweed Heads on the Gold Coast, some people had their house in NSW but their side of the street was in Queensland, they could literally not leave home! Also the main runway in Coolngatta airport is technically partly in NSW as well. NSW uses AESDT, Qld uses AEST so as you plane takes off you actually loose an hour - time travel has been perfected in Australia!
When I retired from the military last year I moved to northern Wisconsin from South Carolina. Winter is intense, but I take a 10 day warm vacay end of Jan. Loving the ease of small town life. That sucks. I've been in the St-Pete/Clearwater area for 3 years now. I went from an assertive driver in Texas to a very, VERY, defensive driver. People just drive like the laws of physics don't matter and like they are the only person on the road, despite the area being massively overpopulated now. I now leave plenty of space in front me. The stupidity of some of the moves drivers will attempt to pull amazes me daily. You never know if the person in front of you is 100yrs old, just got their license, a crazy person from NY/Boston, Florida man, etc. You can be sure about one thing; however, if they have a Bucs or Disney license plate, stay far far away.
You have convinced me to not move to FloridaThank you!
There are plenty of reasons not to move to Florida, shitty drivers is not even in the top 5...?You have convinced me to not move to Florida
That's not just friendly rivalry, that's pretty much true. Although the Qld / NSW rivalry is strong, the Sydney / Melbourne one is even better - and funnier. This friendly feud/rivalry reminds me of similar jabs the people in Sydney would make about Canberra.
