Torrie is the man when it comes to EcoBoost tuning
Yup, I’ve been reading the mustang EcoBoost forum for quite a while, Torrie did the(Unleashed Tuning) R&D BDX tune for the 2019 Ranger using my truck . He kept it for a week and used a Dyno in Jacksonville. He put the tune on the S position and left the D position normal. So in drive he did some transmission tuning (no gear skipping) but left drive mode mostly stock. The power is in select/sport mode. I love the tune..no mods .
Regards

I think this is what I'm looking for...making sport mode a true sport mode and leaving the D like stock. Can or does Torrie turn off the auto stop/start in your tune ? I'd love to turn that off permanently.

I didn’t have the start/stop removed because I didn’t think of it at the time but you may email
Him and ask [email protected]

I’m interested in a basic tune that cleans up the EPA lean run flaws and improves fuel mileage(if possible).
If that could be done in D mode and a sportier tune in S mode, that setup would be one I’d purchase.

I recently had a TSB done on the tranny, resetting it, and that’s made a big improvement and my 1500rpm miss/stumble is essentially gone.
I just reinstalled the GFB DV+ and that has also made drivability smoother but still feel fuel mapping could be better......without fuel mileage suffering.

I don't want to go off topic, but can you tell me more about getting rid of the 1500rpm stumble? PM if you want.

Is it possible for Livernois Tuning to arm the tune only in S mode so the standard D mode is always in stock tune? This would make a nice (secret) valet mode. I'm sure this can be done but I thought I'd ask.

I doubt they will ever be able to tune for this to happen. The reason I say that is because it typically takes 5-10 minutes or sometimes more to flash a new ECM and TCM tune and the vehicle has to be shut off during this process. I just don’t see it being possible to have it re-flash with tunes fast enough with just going from drive to s

My tune is on sport mode side and can be changed instantly , even on the fly. The tune may be present on the drive side but its not noticeable but shifts all the gears in drive with no skipping.

That's good to know Doc...I have a Trifecta tune on my old Cobalt SS...on start up it's defaults to normal mode and in stock form. Once I press the button for "competition mode", it's instantly in tuned mode, jumping from 260hp to nearly 400hp. I have that button changed to a keyed switch so no one else but me can turn the tune on:like:

Yes, Livernois stated in a previous post that they don’t mess with the sport side...call them and ask if they could do it. Doesn’t hurt.

OK cool. Unleashed has the same nGauge as 5 Star. May need to take a couple days off and head up the road.

I have had 5-Star tune installed for 10k miles now. I tow a 2500# camper in the mtns of CO pretty aggressively. It's great. I use the 87 daily/tow tune. I am happy with 5 Star overall. Sadly my MPG is hovering around 20 with 33in Duratracs. That's a decrease from 14 that I WAS averaging before. My old Focus ST shot UP in MPG with a COBB tune, so I was a tad disappointing with this one decreasing.
