5G all models only diesels and now we got also V6 petrol. Yeah, that means not many of us got that one and rest of need to wait few forevers until they are available again ?That's interesting, the 5G Raptor was only available in the 2.0 litre twin turbo diesel, the 6G is only available in the 3.0 V6 petrol.
Yeah our 5G's were variously available in a 2.2 diesel, 3.2 diesel single turbo , 2.5 petrol and finally 2.0 bi-turbo diesel. The petrol model died out, it was only available on the single cab poverty pack XL, the 2.2 was just the i5 3.2 engine missing a cylinder, and was the same Transit light truck motor that Ford fitted to Land Rovers when Ford owned Land rover. The 2.0 bi-turbo was a completely new engine evolved from the PSA car engine design I believe. Eventually they dropped all bar the 3.2 and the 2.0 diesels.5G all models only diesels and now we got also V6 petrol. Good and interesting reading from you.Yeah our 5G's were variously available in a 2.2 diesel, 3.2 diesel single turbo , 2.5 petrol and finally 2.0 bi-turbo diesel. The 5G Raptor was only available with the 2.0 diesel which made it over priced, all show, and no go, everyone was pretty disappointed, and thought it should have had the Coyote V8 from the Mustang. A number of local companies were so successful in doing Coyote conversions that Ford Australia were considering engaging one to do a factory sanctioned version. Unfortunately then Covid hit and it never got off the ground. I hope they fired that stupid Ford Australia manager who thought the 2.0 was a great idea in the Raptor.
When the 6G came out last year they dropped the 3.2 i5 diesel and replaced it with the 3.0 V6 diesel once again from the old Land Rover / Range Rover line, and the 2.0 carried over. The 6G Raptor is only available with the 3.0 V6 Ecoboost petrol from the US F150. Which is probably the engine it should have had from the beginning.

Hi KristinaGood and interesting reading from you.
All Rangers and mid-size trucks from other manufacturers have been diesels here, until now. (I am not talking about Rams, F-series and Fiat Stradas, etc of course but only about trucks competitive to Rangers.) Previous Raptor shared 2.0 bi-turbo diesel engine with Wildtrak. Low fuel consumption was a plus and it didn’t change no matter what were the usage or driving conditions. Too early to tell about Raptor petrol engine but if you’re looking for something eco this is something you should ignore.
I find it really good I had Wildtrak as my first truck. It was like my first truck in my life and everything I learned about Ford trucks was thanks to her. I have told this before but other Rangers and Raptor can’t be compared as they are too different for that. I still miss my Wildtrak, it was much easier to park.![]()
It’s the shape of this truck what makes parking it different than other trucks, sides, sidesteps and don’t know the exact word about wider wheel wells ?. 5G it was straight and sleek, parking it was a piece of cake ?Hi Kristina
That's interesting do you consider the 6G that much bigger, in reality it's only a few millimeters here and there. Although I'm told it does make it feel like a completely different truck. The engine bay was widened a bit to male the V6 diesel and petrol an easier fit.
Good Luck in the future Kristina. Sorry to see you go. I guess you know there is a 6G forum...Moving my Raptor to instagram as it’s not 5G topic anymore. Who’s interested may look for fordrangerraptor_kristina
I have some ideas and plans for my Raptor and they are different from what I had planned for Wildtrak. Maybe I needed Wildtrak as a preparing and learning period for Raptor, who knows.
Nothing comes overnight that’s for sure. This 6G RR stuff is still all new for me and this time I haven’t read OM and there is no forum to search for info also.
Few mods on my Raptor are actually already completed.? Now thinking how to realize my next ideas the way I’ll like them some years later too.
Good Luck in the future Kristina. Sorry to see you go. I guess you know there is a 6G forum...
I’m not planning to leave 5G forum, but I think it’s not ok if members who don’t have 5G truck anymore keep actively posting about their new trucks.@Kristina We would love to have you hang around with us. If that is ok with you.

Tracy, please confirm my parking technique is correct. I drove in to a parking house from left side and then crossed those little black things with yellow stripes and was on the right side. Just a little wiggle-wiggle with a tail for final correction and it was perfect!?Please come back often, Kristina! Keep us updated on your Raptor’s progress. We are interested! Also, you are an inspiration to me.I don’t think there is anything you can’t do, & well.
