Robertecox and fitzmotor: solutions! Joyous. Maybe I can have a friend 3d print the rest of the missing armrest and use high strength velcro and straps to affix it. fitzmotor, it looks like you have a screw and an even shorter door. I've got about 6" behind the back of the armrest in my scab.

I'm a hair over 6 foot, but I have a inseam of about 35-36 inches. Major legs. To the point I look weird with pants tucked in. The torso:legs ratio is just... wrong.

With the seat jacked up, it is al little better for my arms, but...

I've got the seat pretty low, as with the seat jacked up, even with it all the way back, my thighs don't touch the seat. Since it lowers in the back and not the front, the angle is more comfy and takes pressure off my butt.

I've got the steering wheel fully extended and it's about 1.5' from my sternum.

I may have a pick your poison situation: sore ass or uncomfortable arms.
I wonder if SeatJackers would help get you more thigh support?

I use them for more comfort but I'm short, however it sounds like your not getting good thigh support.

6'2" here. I'm pretty happy with the comfort, but I have to admit, it would be nice if the steering wheel came back another couple of inches as I have to have the seat all the way back.

Ok, so I paid close attention to my left arm comfort on the way to work this morning. I am perfectly comfortable using the stock arm rest. But I can see if you have your seat jacked way up, it could put too much distance between your elbow and the rest. I don't think I have my seat up very high, but it is as far back as it will go.

I find that if my elbow is resting on window sill, I hang onto to visor for more comfort. I miss not having a handle to hang onto, center top of window. Some call it an OH SHIT handle. Do wish the steering wheel came out farther as well. I like to stretch my legs...

I just ordered this. Hopefully it solves the problem for the few of us that have no place to rest our arms comfortably. :muscle:

let us know how you like it. I just need a slight nudge to buy one myself.

Amazing description of different body types! I'm male, long torso, shorter legs, still 6'2. Here is my solution. Not pretty, functional! Amazon, Neoprene, self adhesive. I added some glue around the edges.

 This is realy „badass“ …. Nice to see one who thinks „form has to follow function“ like me.

The driving position is awkward with the steering wheel so far away
I can't find anything about this comfort issue, I can't be the only person. Maybe my torso to leg ratio makes me a fringe user in terms of ergonomic design?
Nope, you're far from the only one. More serious than the comfort problem are the driving safety aspects of having your arms outstretched, I think. The reaction time increases significantly. Or has anyone here ever seen a racing driver driving with his arms outstretched? Not? Now u know why!
I bought a ranger cause it is 90% the vehicle I want,
#meetoo … I now believe it was a mistake

I’m 6’1 mostly legs and very comfortable but I don’t rely on the armrest on the door or the center console (too low for my seating position). I pull my steering wheel all the way out and up, and my seat jacked up tall. Most people don’t like my seating position when they are in the drivers seat. If anything, my left arm rests on top of the door or my lap.
It looks like it's something like a coincidence whether the steering column is telescopic or not. ?

You also don't see them with armrests.
Why can't you just have 2 hands on the wheel with arms comfortably bent at the elbows and not resting on anything?
I do use the window edge and center console at times but mainly not using anything.

Gonna really have to pay attention next time I drive. I can say that I keep my left elbow on the top of the door versus the armrest. And I do that the vast majority of the time. Don't think I ever use the armrest but not sure. Will pay attention going forward. Also use the console for my right arm. That is probably 90% of the time.

Weird/funny how we are all so different. For comparison I am 6'2" (well at this stage probably shrinking on a daily basis towards 6'1") with a 33 inseam. And... I find the truck to be extremely comfortable. FYI the warden agrees and she is 5'5".

Yeah thats facts, if you have something holding your arm up it restricts your range of motion and ability to maneuver. I will sometimes use the window sill like you but with that I can lift off quickly to maneuver if needed. Big ass cushion on the door is kinda sketchy from a safety standpoint.

I am 6'3 with a 34 inseam and I completely agree, arms sit on the center console with hand resting on the shifter and left on the window sill unless I need to maneuver, then its 9 and 3 and arms not resting on anything. My truck is perfect for me, I think op needs to work on the seat and steering wheel adjustment a tad more and also its worth noting having stuff propping your arms up with no room to move down while holding the wheel is very dangerous if you need to do a fast maneuver, generally when driving properly nothing should be holding your arms up except your shoulders and the wheel itself.
