6am, Saturday morning, I pulled out onto the arterial and got up to speed. Then a violent clattering from the engine, "check brakes" and "low oil pressure" warnings, so I stopped immediately and shut her off. I found the serpentine belt shredded and wrapped around the fan, and various tubes and wires severed. Eventually noticed the belt tensioner has snapped clean off and must have been slung into the radiator tank, because that's leaking. At the dealership now awaiting diagnostics.

Ford Performance tune, aFe charge pipes, mishimoto intake, 3" turbo back. Think they'll tell me the mods caused this?

That sucks. A big chunk of metal and spinning rubber sure can do a lot of damage. All though it’s BS, I imagine the dealer will put up some resistance here. Keep us updated. Best of luck.

Thanks bro. There's no way the belt snapped and lassooed it. Right? No freakin way.

These motors can handle 400hp. I see no performance serpentine belt option. Service schedule says inspect belts at 150K. A very generous estimate would be 20% increase in hp from the mods. 20% reduction in mileage = 120K.

Metallurgy ass mfn FAILURE!
Loan vehicle please!

I'm no metallurgical expert, but you can see two deviations on either side of this fastener.
Clearly a casting fault brought to light with the torque of that bolt, which propagated into a crack that spread fast because of the belt tension. See if the dealership can argue that point effectively. Use bigger words if necessary.
