Update - so I called Kuat. It is supposed to be the A3, but they are not available yet. The difference from the is 75mm shorter than the A1. Fit guide is getting updated. They are going to follow up with me. Sounds like potentially swapping out the bar 4 side bars.

How far from the cab is the front? could it be shifted forward a smidge to even it out? not placed against the cab, just closer?

How much of a pain in the arse was it to get lined up?

when i put the yakima together the bolts were all the perfect length, if I had everything at just the right angle. . .

Seeing it on your truck it looks so dang sexy . . .

I wonder if you could put longer cross bars on it, using the t-slots in the existing cross bars . . .

The directions say 1” away from the cab. I called REI so they will adjust their product page. I called Kuat and need to standby to see how they will handle it. REI is a 1yr return. The 75mm shorter for the real Ranger version (A3) will be roughly 3” shorter. As is the A1 forested go past the edge of the tailgate, but does go a little past the bed sides.

I actually work for REI (not on the retail side). and I'd take it back and tell them to fix their website. I'd roll up to the store with the rack on the truck to show them it doesn't actually fit and give it to them assembled.

yeah, it's not the store staff's fault the fit guide is wrong. but if kuat is going to drag their feet about taking care of you, then I'd use REI's return policy. this kind of thing is exactly what it's for.

Haven’t heard back from Kuat so probably going the return route. I don’t completely hate the fit, but knowing it’s not as intended is going to get me. It legit was just poorly labeled by REI online. Hate to return, but it is what it is.

KUAT is sending the shorter side rails when available (a few months). They said to tell free to cut the longer rails down. The internal threading must extend the length of the side rails if that's the case. I'd lose it in the notch for the t slot nut inserts on the cut end though.

The rack is solid. MPG dropping a little, but that's expected.

That’s a very slick looking bed rack. Too bad about the fitment guide but it’s nice that Küat is taking care of it. ? Otherwise, you’d have to put the pressure on @mtbikernate. ?‍

Let us know when you get the new side rails installed.

Yeah, that was my take. Just hood until maybe November or so when the Ranger specific one is good to go.
