thanks .. and there is a reason I am paying to have them done. I can do a lot of stuff but things that require finesse are not things I am good at. I have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs until finesse is required then I have 10 thumbs and always wind up breaking something

what happens? do they sorta weld on?
Yes they do, to pretty much any other metal when both are exposed to outside elements.
Aluminum and stainless steel are the worst....that's why you will see very little aluminum, if any, on boats...lot of stainless but when aluminum is attached to stainless it ruins both metals.
Also why, if your using aluminum spacers, even if painted, you should use a thin coating of anti-seize on the side against the steel brake....will prevent it from "welding" the the brake.

Took my truck in for the almost 20K oil change and tire rotate. Metro Ford near Kansas City. Guess they put the new guy on it. Noticed a small puddle under the truck after I got home. Crawled under to see an oily mess. Looks like the newguy just drained the oil through the splash shield. Just another example of why we cannot have nice things.
Next, I found the oil is overfilled. Dang near half inch over the top dot.

Replaced my leaking radiator reservoir tank I got from Benny @LevittownFordParts.com :like: Sucked out the antifreeze with a 100cc syringe with some cobbled together tubing. Had to remove the air box to gain access to one of the mounting bolts. Applied tubing line clamps (from HF--$15 for a set of 3), and wrestled with the spring clamps for a while. Put in the new tank, hooked everything back up and refilled it. Took about 1.25 hrs to complete.

So I dropped the Truck off at a custom shop to get a laundry list of things installed and looked at. they worked on it today and I picked it up at the end of the day. some things they couldn't do for various reasons but all in all they did a admirable job and gave me sound reasons for not doing some of the stuff.

1. Splash Guards. Easy peasy. I had them they were working on the truck anyway so I had them do those while they were messing with it anyway ... done

2, the auto folding mirror module from Australia. Awesome install results were perfect - done

3. Lights - Tail lights, 3rd brake light, and bed liner. got screwed this one. not the shops fault but DiodeDynamics Seems the bulbs they have listed are not for the lariat, my guess is they weren't check against the parts they are supposed to replace. seems the LEDs in the bedlights and third brake light are soldered in and can't be replaced short of replacing the entire unit. Maybe I can get a unit from an XLT and use that instead. might look at that before I return the bulbs to DD.

4. S3 Amber fog lights .. done and done .... way brighter and better than stock.

5. the folks that installed by GoRhino electric side steps couldn't get the over ride switch to work so I asked the shop to take a look. they found that when they ran the wires they used zip ties and one of them was too tight and had cut the insulation and thus it wasn't working. he fixed that and boom override switch is working perfectly

5. my dash cam has not worked since I got it. I thought it was a problem with the way it was hooked up it wasn't getting the battery charged. Since they do custom stuff including Dash Cams I asked the tech to take a look and see what the could tell. he went over the install from front to back and said it was installed correctly and he didn't want to mess with it past that and possibly inadvertently void my warranty. I was ok the that and apparently I am going to have to go to the shop for some remedial how to training.

All in all the shop did what I asked and in good time. Happy Camper I am. Next up will probably be the auto window switch form Australia. after that I am probably done till I read something else on here that sounds intriguing enough to get my attention

That's why all my aluminum jet boats fell apart in salt water. And why all the outboard manufacturers supply ss bolts to mount them to the transom.
(edit) Oops, I forgot...(sarcasm)

someone should tell these guys their boats are going to fall apart.

https://www.metalsharkboats.com/

they should probably notify the USCG, US Navy and other Navys around the world that use their boats. . .
