we just turned 700 miles on the odometer this weekend on our first camping adventure in the new truck. The more I am using this truck the more I’m loving it. Many more modifications, miles and memories to come!

Looks great. I want to do this but have a Bakflip tonneau cover that won’t accommodate a mounted rack. Do you have a rack with crossbars attached? How is your tent attached?

I did too bought a bakflip cover and now I will have a though time with any sort of rack . I bought it as a temporary cover while I find my dream bed cap but I think its was too expensive for a temporary solution haha.

I made a rack with Uni-Strut, some 1/8” plate, and modified topper clamps. I also have another option for a tent base/frame work that I used in my F150. It was also inexpensive and worked great. I think it would be useable with the Bakflip. I will try to find a picture...

Here is the frame I made when I used the tent in my 2016 F150. It’s just 1 1/2” square tube with some 3/16” gussets. Straps in at 4 corners, fairly lightweight and easy to load in or out with 2 people. With the tent collapsed it would also fit under my Softopper. It is too wide for the Ranger....I would cut it down to fit but I made it to also use on my offroad trailer.

I’m lovin’ this build and I’m planning on doing something similar with my FX4. I’d like to add a Decked drawer system as well.

Love your tent rig. Nice job. :like: Gonna mount a rack on a Diamondback HD cover for my tent. Please elaborate on your wheel/tire choice and what suspension/frame modifications (if any) were necessary.
