I have a 2019 with a bad axle bearing on the right rear. I can find a new bearing and bearing cup, but I can not find the axle seal. I have seen on other older posts that the seal comes with the axle shaft so you have to buy the whole shaft to get the seal, is this still true or is there somewhere that I can get the seal. I would hate to have to turn a $50 project into a several hundred dollar project.

What're the symptoms of a bad rear bearing?

It is kind of a squeal coming from the right rear wheel. It started around 40,000 making a grinding and screeching sound, but it went away for the most part. It now has 55,000 and it started again. It is not terrible, but enough to know there is definitely something wrong. I had it at ford when it first started at 40,000 but of course it did not make the noise when they drove it. Like I said, it went away, so I just kept driving it.

Any vibrations? You've ruled out brake pad/rotor wear?

No vibrations. I have not ruled out brake issues yet, I just am going on the assumption that it is related to the noises it was making at 40K. Probably a good idea, and I will verify that first. If it is the bearing, I just seems ridiculous that they would make you buy and axle shaft to get a seal, and the worst part is that you cant go used because you still need the new seal.

Worn brakes can cause grinding noise too...a worn bearing would surely cause vibration that you could feel...I'd have it lifted at a shop and ask the mechanic to looks around...or put the truck upon four jack stands...once the truck is off the ground, rotating the axles will quickly identify what's making the noise and where...

Before you make assumptions you need to look into the issue. I suspect this will be much simpler than what you think it is

I vote for a rock(s) in the pad.
The squeal is getting less because its grinding down and creating a groove on your disk.
Probably just as expensive as buying a new shaft/seal now.

If it were an axle bearing wouldn't it only make noise - GENERALLY - in a turn - specfically a left turn?

It has been a very long time since I had a wheel bearing go bad, but in the very distant past, every wheel bearing I had go bad caused a low rumbling sound versus a squeal.

It was the brakes, caught them just in time before they damaged the rotor. Thanks for all the help.
