Has anyone installed portals on their 5g Ranger?

I see 74Weld have them for the Bronco, I'm wondering how much it would take to get them onto the Ranger.

They're used on trophy trucks to gain axle clearance, gear reduction and run larger tires all without upgrading suspension.

Humvees use portal gears (the real military ones, not the H2 or H3).

Mercedes-Benz G500, and Land Rover Defenders also have factory installed portals.

someone someplace likely has put them on a ranger but ive never seen them. if i had endless amounts of cash id go for it. if the broncos are doing it id bet its possible for rangers.

Humvees use portal gears (the real military ones, not the H2 or H3).

And the HMMV geared hubs do NOT last very long when constantly driven at 65 MPH or faster. The military HMMV's are governed at 55 MPH state side and governed at 65 MPH overseas. We had to constantly replace the geared hubs while overseas due to drivers constantly driving 65 MPH.

You can't ask this stuff on this forum, and usually the answer is no because this truck got skipped on the hardcore Baja aftermarket. The new ranger raptor will get waayyy more attention, but probably the next gen Ranger raptor is where you might see some sick upgrades.

I know what you're asking, but most of the people on here did their modding in the 80's and you're only going to get replies asking what is that, opinions, and not one single "yes I did it check out my thread."

If you want a true off-road beast, I would recommend selling this truck while you can get a pretty penny, and buying like a cab from an old ranger and literally fabbing up the whole cage and suspension or buying tried and true suspension parts, and go to racedezert where everyone is asking questions about what you're talking about and asking about angles and geometry and build trucks in their driveway, not some grandpa making fun of engine covers and complaining about tie downs in the bed.
