Hey I'll tell you if I did something like this, (which I would,) none of you would ever know about it. Thanks for posting a learning moment for us.
LOL true. Happens to the best of us, but OP is incredibly humble for helping us learn from their experience.

I stuck my fingers into the cooling fan of my S10 years ago. Was in deep conversation as I for whatever reason grasped the fan shroud.

Them thick plastic fan blades can **** your **** up quick.

I was washing my truck. And I opened the hood with the windshield wipers still up. Added a nice couple paint chips right on the edge of the hood. I am too embarassed to take a pic, but I will when I get home from work today. Need to break the dr color chip back out...

Just a reminder to not be as dumb as me. The 303 nano graphene detailer is absolutely amazing stuff. Paint looks incredible.

Our US built trucks have water based paint now due to new Fed regulations. Chips very easily. Does “We’re from the government & we‘re here to help” ring a bell? ??‍♂

Well it was 50 years ago and my very first car. I did not fully latch the hood closed and took off in a bit of a hurry, floored it. The hood flew open and hit the roof above the windshield and folded it about 30 degrees. I had to lean out the side window to see where I was going. He He.

Jim, if that is the dumbest thing you have every done, than you have either led a sheltered life or are very lucky.

Doing so many dumb things it's hard to remember the dumbest. One I will never forget is way back in the 70's my 57 Ranchero auto tranny went out so I converted it to a 3 speed with a floor shifter. I put in a Hurst Mystery Shifter as was called. I found the mystery was shifting fast to second gear without slamming it into reverse. After rebuilding the tranny numerous times I could do it blind folded. The last time (it was a side loader tranny) I was putting a bolt in the side cover & dropped it, one bounce & the boult went straight into the spedo gear hole in the tail shaft. Yep tear down. Now the dump part, I got it together & installed test drove around the block, yep same old mystery but I finally learned my lesson that was the last time I had to rebuild it. That was like 5 or 6 lesson's but I am Polish.
